In the first half of 2018, Dau Tieng drastically took measures on socio-economic development, focused on removing obstacles, promoted production-business activities, ensured social welfare and national defence-security. Hence, the district’s economic picture continued getting thriving with the growth speed of more than 14%.
The district’s total production value over the past six months was estimated at more than VND6.02trillion, or 44.67% of the year’s plan and up 14.3% compared to the same period last year. Of these, the district’s value of industrial manufacture and construction was more than VND2.38trillion, or 44.49% of the year’s plan and up 22% against the same period last year. The district’s trade-service value was more than VND2.39trillion or 55.49% of the year’s plan and up 11.8% compared to the same period last year. The district’s agricultural production value reached more than VND1.24trillion, or 32.69% against the year’s plan and up 6.3% compared to the corresponding period last year…

A glance of Dau Tieng district
The district’s industrial manufacture and construction continued reaching stable development. There was growth in basic targets for the district’s credit activities. Particularly, the district’s total capital mobilized amounted to more than VND3.51trillion, up 26.4% and total outstanding loans reached more than VND2.05trillion, up 26% compared to the corresponding period last year.
In terms of basic construction, the district mobilized resources to hasten the process of construction of many traffic works, including those of upgrading the street in front of the district’s People’s Committee and Party Committee to August Revolution street; upgrading urban technical infrastructure systems of Long Hoa, Ben Suc and Minh Hoa crossroads, Minh Thanh market, VS2 street…Over the past six months, the district disbursed more than VND76.7billion in basic construction capital or 41.95% of the year’s plan. The district’s People’s Committee also approved a detail plan on airport in Dau Tieng township; set up a plan on Dau Tieng town’s eastern urban area at 1:2000 scale; a plan on agro-forestry and fishery development to 2025 and vision to 2030; carried out a project on the development of specialized areas on growing fruit trees in association with ecological tourism development in Thanh Tuyen commune and a plan to realize the local program on agriculture and rural development for the period of 2017-2020.
Possibly speaking, during the period, the district lured more huge investors. The whole district now has a total of 339 businesses, up 46 compared to the same period last year. Noticeably, a project on expanding Thanh An industrial compound by 30 hectared invested by An Duong Floor Plank Co.Ltd. absorbed around 1,000 laborers. The district also supported investors to implement the An Lap industrial compound project; expand the Bau Bang industrial park in Long Tan commune with 969 hectares, the An Dien industrial park for the phase 3 with 381.21 hectares in An Lap and Thanh Tuyen communes.
Over the past time, the district constantly created favorable conditions for investors to implement their projects. The district’s point of view from now till 2020 is to attach special importance to industrial development in association with promoting services and rural agriculture, promoting the local process of industrialization and modernization. This contributed to fostering the process of urbanization, bringing the proportion of industrial manufacture and construction to 36% of the district’s economic structure.
Possibly seeing, the above results plus the efforts by authorities at all levels and people will be the firm foundation for the district to realize targets on socio-economic development, national defence-security in the remaining 6 months of 2018 and in the following years.
