Despites facing difficulties, especially from the plunge of rubber latex price, Dau Tieng district has managed to further stabilize and foster the local socio-economic situation.

In recent years, the price of rubber latex has constantly gown down, making Dau Tieng district’s economy face obstacles. The lives of the local people have also affected by this. But, thanks to the efforts by the local authorities at all levels, Dau Tieng district has overcome difficulties and gained major results.

Under the timely instruction and support of provincial leaders, Dau Tieng district has continuously put forward solutions to remove difficulties, promoting the local socio-economic development.
The district’s total production value in Q1 2016 alone was estimated at more than VND2.36trillion, up 112.8% against last year’s same period. Of these, industrial manufacture and construction reached VND913billion while trade-services gained more than VND956billion.
The district is now home to 249 enterprises, up 29 compared to that of 2015. Since early this year, the district has set up additional 2 cooperatives, bringing the total number of cooperatives here to 13. Noticeably, Thanh An industrial compound goes on smoothness, which is seen as a vital lever for the district to step by step shift the local economic structure. Trung Thien Woodwork Processing Co. has decided to pour US$50mln into production at the industrial compound. Once operational, it will generate jobs for laborers in and out of the locality.
Over the past time, Dau Tieng district also reaped considerable results in terms of urban planning-management, traffic system development and basic construction, step by step improving the local image…
Strong investment in infrastructure
So far, Dau Tieng has spent nearly VND2.04trillion on socio-economic infrastructure at the local demand for development; submitted Long Hoa, Minh Hoa and Ben Suc’s overall urban development plans to provincial People’s Committee for approve; fulfilled the approval of 8 detailed plans on construction of the central areas of communes…The district has excelled at rural traffic development and urban rejuvenation with a total of 56 works and 157 roads of over 193km done. Noticeably, there are now more than 95% of the district’s main covered by asphalt, more than 85% of rural and in-field roads covered by gravel…
The district’s People’s Committee is completing documents recognizing Dau Tieng as a new-style rural locality. The district has also devised a plan to partially review the five-year implementation of the national target program on new-style rural construction for the 2011-2015 period and implement orientations for the 2016-2020 period. The district will further urge An Lap and Minh Thanh communes to fulfill the remaining criteria of the program to be recognized as new-style rural ones. In addition, the district will remind communes that were recognized as new-style rural ones to continue improving the quality of criteria of the program.
According to Nguyen Manh Hong, Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People, the district will strive to get the annual growth of production value at 13.37%; further support communes to mobilize resources for the local infrastructure construction, economic development…The district will also restructure the local agricultural sector towards sustainable development; replicate hi-tech agricultural models and carry out projects on agricultural development in 2016. All aim to promote the local sustainable economic development and raise the lives of the local people.
From now till 2020, the district will strive to maintain its average annual economic growth rate at 10% with an economic structure of 36% in industrial manufacture-construction, 34% in services and 30% in agricultural production. The average income per capita of the local people will be VND50mln-VND60mln per year. Till 2020, the number of the district’s poor households under the province’s poverty line will reduce to below 1%.
