Dau Tieng district has focused on propagandizing and replicating effective collective economic models. As a result, they have created positive changes in the local orientation about the development of newly-style cooperatives.
Real demand solved
Thanh Tuyen People’s Credit Fund is one of Dau Tieng district’s effective cooperative models. Over the past years, the credit fund provided loans for individuals and collectives in Dau Tieng district’s Thanh Tuyen, Thanh An, An Lap, Long Tan communes and Ben Cat town’s An Tay commune to develop production models, contributing to ensuring social welfare. Especially, it has so far set up An Lap transaction office in An Lap commune’s Phu Binh hamlet.

Mai Thanh Phong, Director of Thanh Tuyen People’s Credit Fund said that as of late 2017, the fund absorbed 3,696 members with total deposits and outstanding loans reaching VND206billion and VND138billion, respectively. Long Tan dairy cow cooperative in Long Tan commune is also a role-model, operating under the newly-style cooperative model. In 2010, Tan Long dairy cow cooperative group was established with 9 members and was upgraded into a cooperative in August 2013. As of now, it has had a total of 100 members with more than 1,400 dairy cows…
Generating stable jobs
The whole district is now home to 8 cooperatives on agricultural production with more than 70 members each. Thanks to getting support in terms of nurslings, breeding animals from functional agencies and businesses, these cooperatives have bravely expanded their production and consumption scale. Loc Phat cooperative, Minh Hoa Phat agriculture-service-trading cooperative, Long Tan dairy cow cooperative…are typical examples for this.
Thanks to the attention and help of authorities at all levels, district-based cooperatives have worked very stably, creating regular jobs for laborers with the average income of between VND3million and VND6million per person per month. The district’s main agricultural products are now rubber, fruit trees and ornamental creatures…Apart from cooperatives, there are many households getting involved in large-scale animal husbandry with corporations, namely CP, Japfa, Everet on contract.
The district also has 12 cooperatives and 16 cooperative groups on construction, transportation…Initially, they have worked very effectively.
Nguyen Manh Hong, Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People’s Committee said that in order to fulfill the national target program on new rural construction, the district’s Party Standing Committee has promulgated a resolution on cooperative development till 2020. Under the resolution, the district’s collective economy with cooperative model as a core factor will hold a vital position in economic sectors, promoting production in accordance with the value chain and market demand closely linked with enterprises towards sustainable and large-scale agriculture, improving the local people’s production-business effectiveness and income.
