Over the past 38 years, Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. not only built up its sustainable business strategy, but also took good care of laborers’ lives. This contributed to promoting the local socio-economic development.
From an outstanding unit
Dau Tieng Furniture Joint Stock Company (JVC) under Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. is now home to 449 laborers. Despite difficulties, the JVC still offered jobs with stable income to laborers and made efforts to take good care of laborers’ lives over the past time. Particularly, the JVC built an ideal area of 450sq.m for laborers to take a rest after lunch and set up a group responsible for providing free mid-shift meals for laborers with the slogan of “Food Quality, Hygiene and Safety”. The JVC also established a canteen selling various food at cheap prices for laborers, contributing to taking care of their health and helping them reduce their daily costs; joined hands with its Trade Union to organize cultural-sports activities for laborers, contributing to improving their spiritual life.
Taking good care of laborers’ lives
In addition to Dau Tieng Furniture JVC, many other units under Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. joined hands to take care of laborers’ spiritual and material lives over the past time.
Nguyen Van Minh, Chairman of the company’s Trade Union said that giving attention to laborers’ spiritual and material lives was a meaningful activity. During the past 5 years, the company provided 7,464 turns of households with a total loan of more than VND73.7bln for economic development. The company’s Trade Union also built 90 houses of compassion for needy laborers with a total expense of more than VND1.8bln.
Regarding medical field, the company spent more than VND31.2bln on building its hospital and upgrading medical stations of its rubber plantations while buying new equipment for medical activities. The company now possesses a hospital and 11 medical stations with medical staff full of experience.
The whole company now has 84 pre-schools and nursery school groups (so-called nhóm trẻ). Over the past 5 years, the company’s Trade Union spent VND9.3bln on building and upgrading schools, classes and equipping teaching tools. Son Ca pre-school under Minh Tan Rubber Plantation was recognized as a pre-school meeting national standards.
Apartedly, the company spent more than VND13bln on building and upgrading many social welfare works, including football, volleyball courses, cultural houses…; raised money to the local Fund for the Poor; got involved in social charity activities such as visiting policy beneficiary families and the poor, awarding scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils, providing free medical check ups and medicine for the local elderly and children; paid more attention to activities of “paying debt of gratitude” via building 36 gratitude houses, 57 houses of compassion and maintaining 3 Vietnamese heroic mothers. Mr.Minh said: “Till now, the whole company has had a total of moderately good living conditions and no more poor households. This is a great victory of the company’s leaders in taking care of laborers’ lives”.
Nguyen Thi Thu, Vice-Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People’s Committee said that Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. made great contributions to Dau Tieng district’s socio-economic development during the past 38 years. The company actively got involved in social charity activities and law dissemination for laborers. There was a close cooperation between the company and the local authority in many aspects for a prosperous and beautiful homeland.
In 2012, the company tapped 34,265 tons of rubber latex or 103.83% of the projection and processed 38,069.88 tons of rubber latex or 105.75% of the projection. The company’s total revenue in 2012 was estimated at more than VND2.99trillion with pre-tax profit reaching more than VND1.49trillion. Also thanks to its good business, the company took good care of laborers with the average income of VND8.4bln per person per month.
