Over the past 3 years, Dau Tieng district has earmarked more than VND1tril from the local budget to build infrastructure facilities and mobilized sources to build new rural areas across 11 communes. Accordingly, businesses and local people have contributed greatly to the program’s common development.
In the first stage, the program of new rural building at Dau Tieng district encounted many difficulties whilst local people’s awareness on the program was limited. Until now, through training work, local cadres and people’s awareness on the program’s interests has been improved, accelerating the program’s process.
At present, Dau Tieng district has completed and delivered a decision of approving project of new rural planning for 8 communes including Thanh An, Long Tan, An Lap, Dinh Hiep, Dinh Thanh, Dinh An, Minh Thanh and Minh Tan. Meanwhile, the local administration will ratify the project for the 3 remaining communes of Long Hoa, Minh Hoa and Thanh Tuyen in Oct. 2013.
Over the past 3 years, Dau Tieng district’s rural socio-economy has showed a strong change. So far, rate of households using electricity has reached 99.7%; rate of families using clean water has won 99.71%; rate of local laborers enjoying stable jobs has accounted for over 90% whilst rate of poor households has been at 2.14% and average income per capita has reached VND26.8mil per year.
In terms of trade and service fields, Dau Tieng district has so far had markets across 7 out of 12 communes and townships. Accordingly, 5 markets have reached criteria of new rural market.
Assessing the program of new rural building at Dau Tieng district, Nguyen Phuong Linh, vice chairman of Dau Tieng district People’s Committee said that Dau Tieng has won many encouraging achievements. All communes herein have reached 9 out of 10 criteria of new rural building.
In order to mobilize sources for the new rural building program, the district People’s Committee has set out a plan on socializing all fields. Through well implementation of promulgation work, local people have greatly contributed to the locality.
The program of new rural building at Dau Tieng has won many contributions from businesses inside and outside of the district. All have contributed to push up process and improved quality of the program.
Duong Van Nhan, vice chairman of Thanh An commune People’s Committee said that during 3 years of implementing the program of new rural building, the communal party committee and authority have received a great support from local residents. Thanh An commune has reached 16 out of 19 criteria. 3 remaining criteria including traffic, school and cultural infrastructure have been built urgently and will be completed by the end of this year.
Dau Tieng district has made greater efforts to turn Thanh An into a new rural commune by late 2013 and to have 8 communes reaching 19 criteria by late 2015.
Addressing the inspection trip on new rural building at the district, the provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Tran Van Nam highly valued the local efforts in implementing the program and noted that the locality should focus on promulgation and pay more attention to quality of criteria for the sake of improving local residents’ material and spiritual life.
