Over the past time, Dau Tieng district had many outstanding farmers in production and production through the emulation movement of “Good farmer in production and business”, actively contributing to the local economic development.
Good farmers in production and business
Thanks to the attention and support of authorities at all levels, many farmers in the district have bravely shifted their plant and animal structure towards sustainable development. As a result, since 2017, the whole district has had 19,746 farmers winning the “good farmer” title at all levels or more than 85% of total, up 8.8% compared to the period of 2014-2016.
Under the emulation movement of “Good farmer in production and business”, the district’s Farmers’ Associations at all levels have implemented a variety of support activities for farmers. In the period of 2017-2019, the district’s Farmers’ Association has coordinated with relevant units to organize 380 training courses, seminars on sci-tech transfer in animal husbandry and cultivation for nearly 18,000 members.
The district’s Farmers’ Association has also worked with units to spend more than VND6billion on building many tentative points; organized 84 training courses on how to plant, tend rubber trees, ornamental trees…for nearly 2,100 officials and members. Along with this, the district’s Farmers’ Association has teamed up with fertilizer companies to organize seminars and sell 3,299 tons of fertilizer worth more than VND14.5billion on deferred payment for 1,472 members.
In addition, the district’s Farmers’ Association has implemented the phase 1 and 2 of the “Sci-tech application into the development of an intensive farming model for citrus trees under VietGap standards and linkage to consumption” in 2 communes of Minh Hoa and Minh Thanh; well realized a task of developing the local fund for farmers…
Creating motivation for farmers to rise up
Le Huu Dung, Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s Farmers’ Association said that the emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business” has contributed to promoting the local socio-economic development. Through the emulation movement, the district has had many effective models, including Tong Van Huong’s farm on breeding swallows in association with growing fruit trees in Minh Hoa commune; Vu Thi Tuat’s model on breeding swallows in Minh Tan commune; Tran Van Xop’s model on growing citrus fruit trees in Minh Hoa commune…
Apart from fostering home based business, enriching the locality, farmers herein have generated stable jobs for more than 2,800 laborers in recent years. Especially, the emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business” has helped 137 farmers escape poverty, contributing to reducing the local poverty rate. The district’s Farmers’ Associations at all levels have also mobilized officials and members to contribute 4,604 working days, nearly VND27billion to the local infrastructure construction; taken part in building and upgrading 5 bridges…
According to leaders of the district’s Farmers’ Association, the emulation movement has greatly contributed to the local economic development. It has also created a motivation for the local farmers to uphold their ability and creation in order to legitimately get rich on homeland.
