Agricultural development is seen as one of important factors in the local socio-economic development. Hence, Dau Tieng district over the past years made efforts in perfecting the planning of concentrated specialized agricultural areas. The district also boosted infrastructure construction to meet the local demand for economic development and serve the lives of the local people.
From agricultural foundation
The district has promoted hi-tech and urban agricultural models towards sustainable agriculture. So far, the whole district has had a total of 146 large-scale farms on animal husbandry with hi-tech application or nearly 70% of total number of the local animal husbandry farms together with 660 hectares of fruit trees.

The district has implemented a model on making intensive cultivation for citrus fruit trees under VietGAP standards and linking from production to consumption in 2 communes of Minh Hoa and Minh Thanh. Along with this, the district has developed a modern irrigation system for fruit trees in communes of Dinh Thanh, Minh Hoa and Thanh An with a total area of 21 hectares. Initially, the model has brought stable economic efficiency, contributing to protecting water resources.
Noticeably, the district is now home to 102 hectares of farming land with hi-tech application together with a banana growing area by invitro technique with more than 117 hectares in Thanh An commune invested by Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. and U&I Agricultural Joint Stock Company. Industrial manufacture, services on acceleration
The whole district has so far absorbed 364 enterprises plus with the effective operation of Thanh An industrial compound. The district is making efforts in supporting investors to implement the An Lap industrial compound project; coordinating with functional agencies to realize the expanded Bau Bang industrial park in Long Tan commune with 108.3 hectares and the expanded An Dien industrial park project for the phase 3 with 381.21 hectares in 2 communes of An Lap and Thanh Tuyen.
In terms of trade-services, along with diversifying business scopes, the district has attached special importance to stabilizing the market, promoting trade activities with programs of bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside. For tourism, the district has also developed Cau mountain-Dau Tieng reservoir ecotourism site in association with popularizing the local historical cultural values from Kien An forest relic, Thanh Tuyen orchard, the base of the front headquarters of Ho Chi Minh Campaign…
Especially, the district’s project on forest protection and afforestation in association with tourism and semi-wildlife zoo development in the Cau mountain protective forest and on Tha La peninsula in Dinh Thang ward has been approved by provincial People’s Committee with nearly 800 hectares and total investment of more than VND1.5trillion. The project is expected to make contributions to the local tourism.
Economic development has greatly affected all aspects of the district. Noticeably, there are now 99.9% and 99.97% of the local households in use of clean water and power, respectively. The rate of the local poor households under the province’s poverty line has reduced to 0.58%. Also, there are 100% of inter-communal roads covered by asphalt and more than 94% hamlet-level ones upgraded.
