Infrastructure with rapid development
Under the good leadership of the local authorities at all levels, Dau Tieng district has made efforts in socio-economic development and gained great achievements.
Agricultural production is seen as a strong point of the district. Since its re-establishment, the district has attached special importance to fostering rubber trees and animal husbandry models under the industrial formula.
The district has also promoted agricultural, urban industrialization and modernization by many practical activities, including mechanizing agricultural production, transferring sci-tech advancements in cultivation and animal husbandry for the local farmers, providing them with hi-yield nurslings and breeding animals…
As a result, the district has reached a positive shift in economic structure with the gradual growth of perennial trees-growing area. The whole district is now home to 50,755 hectares of rubber trees. The local total area of growing vegetables and crops has so far reached 2,872 hectares.

The district has also taken fruits in new rural construction. Particularly, the district’s Thanh An commune was last year among the province’s 4 communes meeting all 19 criteria of the new rural construction program. The district’s three other communes, namely Dinh Hiep, Dinh Thanh, Long Tan, will also strive to fulfill all 19 criteria of the program by the end of the year.
Besides, the district’s remaining communes, includingThanh Tuyen, Long Hoa, Minh Hoa, An Lap and Dinh An have so far reached 15 out of 19 criteria of the program; Minh Tan, Minh Thanh meeting 13 criteria of the program.
Industry and services on sharp growth
One of Dau Tieng district’s considerable results done over the past time was the movement of making rural roads and urban rejuvenation. So far, the whole district has carried out 56 works, 157 roads with a total length of more than 193km.

The district reached a yearly growth of 12.2% during the past 15 years. Since early this year, the district’s total production value has obtained more than VND2.367trillion, up 430.5% compared to 2000. Noticeably, the district’s industrial production value in the first half of the year was estimated at VND717bln. The total value of trade-services and agriculture during the time also increased by 695% and 198% compared to 2000, respectively.
Over the past time, the district also spent more than VND2trillion on socio-economic infrastructure development. The district submitted the local overall plans on building the urban areas of Long Hoa, Minh Hoa and Ben Suc to provincial People’s Committee for approval; adjusted Dau Tieng township’s detail plan and fulfilled the approval of 8 detailed plans on building the centers of the local communes…
Nguyen Phuong Linh, Vice-Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People’s Committee said that during the past 15 years, Dau Tieng made efforts in fulfilling all the set targets and reached great achievements in socio-economic development. The district is striving to gain an average income per capita of VND58mln by 2015. The district’s economic structure will be also shifted towards the growth of industry and trade-services.
