An overview of the reception
At the reception, Pham Van Bong, Director of provincial DoARD said that Binh Duong's agricultural sector is now oriented to develop high-tech, organic agriculture, urban agricultural models, gradually reducing the proportion of cultivation and increasing the proportion of animal husbandry. He also introduced the delegation to the local hi-tech agricultural zones that have been formed and brought many high economic values. Animal husbandry is still the focus of Binh Duong's agricultural sector with 90% of the total herd, mainly chickens and pigs, under the farm scale, bringing high economic efficiency. The province has also promulgated specific policies to encourage enterprises to invest in agriculture and rural areas, contributing to positive impacts in restructuring agricultural production in association with new-style rural construction, OCOP program...
Mr. Try Sopheak thanked leaders of provincial DoARD for their warm welcome as well as efforts in providing the delegation with useful information. He said that Kratie province has a natural area of 11,094 km² with nearly 400,000 people. Of the total figure, agricultural land area accounts for 82%, which is very convenient for cultivation and animal husbandry.
Currently, in Kratie province, there are 40 foreign enterprises getting involved in many fields, including 16 from Vietnam investing in planting rubber trees with a total area of 30,000 hectares. In addition, they also get involved in growing cashew, banana trees, raising Australian cows with about 30,000 heads.
