Early August 19, a delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD), led by Ha Cong Tuan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development had a working session with Binh Duong. Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee received the delegation.

At the working session, the delegation heard a report on the local forest protection and development in 2015 and in the first half of 2016; the local land-use and planning situation and socio-economic development planning; the Project on hi-tech forestry, auxiliary industry for production in the southern region. Currently, the province’s total area of forest is more than 10,689 hectares, including 3,652 hectares of protective forest and 7,036 hectares of forest for production.
The Project on hi-tech forestry and auxiliary industry for production is implemented under the instruction of Vietnam Administration of Forestry. Accordingly, North Tan Uyen district’s Lac An commune is selected as a place for the realization of the project with a total estimated area of around 150 hectares at Southern Vocational College for Agriculture and Forestry.
Speaking at the working session, Mr.Dung agreed with the thought of selecting Binh Duong to implement the project. But, the project needs to have contributive ideas from relevant sectors for approval.
Mr.Tuan also spoke highly of the local forest protection and development; acknowledged the local petitions and suggested the locality to opportunely remove difficulties in the process of realizing investment projects in the field of forestry.
