After 4 implementation years of provincial agricultural restructuring program for the period 2014-2017, agricultural structure of the province continued to shift towards high-value production and high-value commodities; The proportion of livestock sector continued to increase. By the end of 2017, in the agricultural structure, the proportion of cultivation - husbandry - services was 54.2% - 43.4% - 2.4%. The total value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production in the province increased 4% annually. The average product value per hectare of agricultural land in 2017 was VND95 million / ha / year.
In addition, scientific and technological level in agricultural production in the province has been improved, contributing to the improvement of productivity and quality of agricultural products. New variety using rate of plants and animals achieved 80-100%, productivity increase achieved 5-10%; 100% of perennial cultivated land was mechanized in land preparation; 70% of livestock farms applied high technology processes.
In 2018, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development continues to implement Decision No. 157 / QD-UBND dated 18 January 2018 of provincial People's Committee approving the adjustment of Binh Duong provincial agro-forestry-fishery development planning until 2020 and supplementary planning until 2025. At the same time, the sector will invest in synchronous infrastructure for agricultural production development in association with contents and criteria of new rural construction; well apply policies issued by the central government based on the actual conditions of the province to create favorable conditions for farmers and enterprises to invest in production development; facilitate the application of scientific and technological advances and transformation of agricultural production models; maintain and stabilize the traditional market, concentrate on improving and raising the efficiency of existing consumption channels. In addition, the agricultural sector of the province continues build a system to provide agricultural market information for production and consumption of agricultural products.
