In the first 6 months of 2021, Binh Duong provincial Department of Science and Technology (DST) has made every effort to ensure the progress and quality of the set out tasks. Accordingly, the Department has improved the process of appraising schemes and projects by popularizing the 2021 S&T research orientation and connecting the triple helix of authorities - institutions - businesses. In particular, the Department has submitted to the provincial People's Committee 9 provincial projects which are nearly double that of 2020 to meet the urgent requirements of reality. It has also appraised and signed contracts for 5 urgent provincial-level schemes and projects on national defense and security, transportation, and agriculture while proposing to the Ministry of Science and Technology for consideration of a national application project in Binh Duong.
For the last 6 months of the year, DST announced the selection and direct assignment of provincial-level S&T tasks, funding appraisals, and signing contracts to implement scientific research and technological development tasks in 2021. It has also projected to set up a council and hold a meeting to determine specialized tasks for proposals to order tasks before submitting to the provincial People's Committee for approval of the list of S&T tasks in 2021 (stage 3).
