After more than 7 implementation years of the campaign "Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese products" (referred to as the campaign), Binh Duong has implemented many synchronous and effective solutions, so that the campaign is developing in depth, create good changes in people’s awareness of using Vietnamese products. On this occasion, Binh Duong Newspaper interviewed Tran Thi Hong Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Permanent Deputy Director of the campaign’s provincial Steering Committee.

- Could you please inform about the results of the campaign?
- After more than 7 years, the campaign has spread and positively impacted the social life, helped people in the province to become more aware of responsibilities and interests of consumers towards products, domestic goods, then changed their perception, switched to using domestic goods more and more. From the campaign, the quality and design of domestic goods has been improved; Domestic goods are increasing sold at supermarkets, trade centers and traditional markets. It is important that through the campaign, consumers in the province realized the priority of using Vietnamese goods as a manifestation of national pride, creating favorable conditions for enterprises and increasing national budget revenues.
It can be said that the biggest effect after more than 7 years was to create many jobs and income for the province. More specifically, owing to the campaign, the consumption of domestic goods increased significantly, facilitating production and business development. This has helped the local workforce, improved people's income and living standards.
- In the implementation process of the campaign, which difficulties faced the province?
- The good result was just the beginning. The campaign still has its limitations, namely the collaboration among mass organizations, branches was not synchronized; The number of participating enterprises in Vietnamese goods’ market days was small.
The propaganda of mass organizations at clubs, groups, and associations in rural areas was not in depth, propaganda content was not diversified and limited in terms of ability, form of officials. The market inspection and control was however inadequate, partly affecting the belief of consumers in the quality of Vietnamese products. In addition, the establishment of communication channels "Being proud of Vietnamese goods" of localities, agencies and units was not synchronous and not implemented drastically.
- Ma’am, for the campaign to increasingly spread into people lives in the coming time, provincial Steering Committee has set which goals and tasks?
- In the coming time, the campaign’s Provincial Steering Committee will continue to implement Action program 99 dated 18 June 2015 by provincial Party Standing Committee on the implementation of the campaign in 2015-2020. Specifically, Provincial Steering Committee continues to mobilize resources to promote domestic market development activities with the name "Being proud of Vietnamese goods" under the Prime Minister’s direction; at the same time, action program of all levels and branches is integrated into the campaign to create a large response in the whole province.
We strive for 100% consumers and enterprises in the province to know the campaign; 9/9 districts, towns and city of the province and departments, unions to build communication channels "Being proud of Vietnamese goods". Good Vietnamese products to hold 80% market share of traditional distribution channels in rural areas; 9/9 districts, towns and city to set up stable and sustainable Vietnamese goods’ selling points. At the same time, Provincial Steering Committee has step by step improved the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of trade activities in the province, first of all, anti-smuggling, counterfeit goods, intellectual property and illegal business practices to protect consumers, producers and legitimate traders.
- Could you talk more about solutions to continue raising awareness, actions of producers and consumers for Vietnamese goods?
- Provincial Steering Committee, in the coming time, will continue disseminate and implement Political Notification No. 264-TB / TW of the Politburo, Directive No. 24 / CT-TTg dated 17 Sep 2012 by the Prime Minister on the strengthening of the campaign implementation; implement the project "Developing the domestic market in association with campaign " Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" under Decision No. 634 / QD / TTg dated 29 April 2014 of the Prime Minister (2015-2020)...
All levels and branches need to enhance propaganda to raise awareness and responsibility of producers and consumers of domestically produced goods; encourage agencies, units and socio-political organizations to purchase and use domestic goods when procuring public assets and equipment, stationaries...
To enterprises, it is necessary to further innovate in production, business and ST application to renovate designs and appearance to improve the quality and competitiveness of products and services; fulfill commitments to protecting consumer’s interests...
