From a purely agricultural land located in the north of the province, Bau Bang has risen strongly to become a locality of developed industrial economy. The outstanding mark in the promotion of industrialization and modernization of the district in recent years is the appropriate industrial development planning strategy, based on the foundation of building and promoting the role of concentrated industrial parks.
In which, the first and most important project is Bau Bang Industrial Park with a total area of more than 2,100 hectares (expanded by nearly 1,000 hectares), which was formed in 2016. The investment, completed construction and putting into operations of Bau Bang, Cay Truong, Lai Hung, and Tan Binh Industrial Parks is the highlight of development as the favorable conditions for calling for investment, promoting the industry and pulling the trade and service industries altogether to develop.
The activities of industrial parks have positively contributed to the economic development of the district with the average annual increase of industrial production value at 21.47%. In 2021, the industrial-construction production value reached VND 24,357 billion with total retail sales of consumer goods and services at nearly VND 6,380 billion, the agricultural production value reached more than VND 2,140 billion.

Mr. Vo Thanh Giau, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bau Bang district, said that the result is the synergistic result of the Party committee, government, mass organizations, people and business community in the district. The district focuses on developing transport and industrial infrastructure as a breakthrough foundation for high-tech industry and agriculture to thrive.
“With the goal of building Bau Bang district to soon become an industrial-urban center in the north, the province has planned a science and technology industrial park in the area. This is a breakthrough in industrial production, a foundational infrastructure for the formation of an innovation ecosystem, attracting investment with high added value, and creating a premise for high-tech production. Along with that, the district has planned and built industrial parks with very convenient traffic locations, creating a fundamental change in attracting investment, concentrating resources, and exploiting available potentials to develop industrial products of advantages,” Mr. Giau added.
In the 2021-2030, the district continues to develop Bau Bang Industrial Park and its expansion according to the approved plan with focus on developing and orienting the spatial organization of the administrative center in the direction of concentration with works creating highlights. In addition, the service center area is arranged on important traffic axes such as DT749C, DT741B, National Highway 13 etc. to develop various types of commerce and services while creating a driving force for urban development.
The district continues to focus on investing in detailed planned housing areas while developing social housing for workers by renovating and embellishing the existing residential areas. On the other hand, the district also focuses on developing agricultural areas near the urban areas by forming concentrated agricultural production zones that apply modern technologies. Technical infrastructure system is designed to ensure urban service in terms of traffic, water supply and drainage, electricity supply, information and environment to accelerate the renewal of economic growth model in association with the implementation of strategic breakthroughs and to ensure social security and welfare, to strengthen external activities, and to strive to build a stable and sustainable Bau Bang district firmly in the direction of a smart, civilized and modern city as a foundation towards the goal of 2030 when Bau Bang becomes a modern industrial center and the nucleus in the innovation region of the province.
The introduction of synchronous and appropriate solutions is believed to maintain the socio-economic development of Bau Bang district a high rate and to improve people's living standards.
Bau Bang district has implemented and completed the master plan for socio-economic development of Bau Bang district to 2025 while implementing planning for Bau Bang district of approving tasks and detailed planning projects 1/500 of urban residential areas. Traffic infrastructure is invested by the district and completed many key projects. Investment in asphalting and concreting district roads has reached 100%; 151.63km of commune roads at 33.38% of total commune roads.
