At a recent seminar on development orientations for recreational industry in Bau Bang district for the period of 2017-2020 and vision to 2030, experts said that one of the district’s advantages in this field is to have a synchronous traffic system connecting with main areas of the province and neighboring localities.
Great potential
Assoc.Prof. Dr.Lam Nhan, Vice-Principal of HCM city University of Culture said that Bau Bang will take full advantage of the North-South development pivot with the Highway No.13 connecting Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong and HCM city and the Northeast-Southwest development pivot with HCM city trail connecting the Mekong Delta, central and Highlands regions. The local traffic system also creates connection between Bang Bang-Ben Cat, Bau Bang-Dau Tieng, Bau Bang-Phu Giao.

The above advantageous traffic system is seen as a vital factor for Bau Bang district to form up a hub of recreational industry to absorb more tourists. In addition, the district now has 2 provincial-level historical relic sites, namely Bau Bang Victory historical relic site and Ben Tuong model strategic hamlet together with many large-scale farmsteads on cultivation and animal husbandry, facilitating the local tourism development.
According to Dr.Nguyen Van Phuc, Principal of Eastern International University, although having few cultural heritage, spyche tourism sites…, Bau Bang district is home to historical relics in the revolutionary struggling movement for different tourism development from other localities in the region.
Specific recreational development
For development, according to experts, Bau Bang district’s recreational industry needs to foster a specific form of tourism and recreation under the local advantages and create connection with localities that have strong development in terms of tourism.
According to Assoc.Prof. Dr.Lam Nhan, the district needs to concentrate on developing tours in association with the local typical events while coordinating with other localities to design short-day tours with entertainment services. For example, along with the return-to-the root tourism development, the district-based historical relic sites need to be expanded to design war games for tourists...
Whilst, Dr.Vo Thanh Khoi, former Director of Political Institute 2 said that along with advantages in terms of urban-industrial development, Bau Bang has a large area for agricultural production. This will be the advantage for the district to promote ecological tourism. Through large-scale cultivation farmsteads, namely Thanh Thuy, Le Van Phan…, the district may design ecological tours in association with services on experiencing cultivation and tendance of fruit trees…
Le Khac Tri, Chairman of Bau Bang district affirmed that implementing a project on development of recreational industry in the district for the period of 2017-2020 and vision to 2030 is be in line with the Resolution of the district’s 11th Party Congress and the district’s overall plan on socio-economic development to 2025. Based on proposals by sectors, departments and experts, the district will set up, foster specific tourism and recreational forms while calling for economic sectors to make investment in the local recreational industry.
