In the 2020-2025 period, Di An city will further strive to be recognized as a second class city by the end of 2012 and a first-class city in 2025.
Striving to become second-class city
During the 2016-2020 period, Di An city reached positive results in urban development and construction with infrastructure systems upgraded, State management in urban and construction order strengthened, urban space gradually formed up towards civilization, synchrony and regional connectivity, thereby contributing to the local socio-economic development.
Vo Anh Tuan, Vice-Chairman of Di An city’s People’s Committee said that all results done by the city in urban development over the past five years contributed to fulfilling a target of upgrading it to the city under the management of the province from the town. The city will also strive to become a second-class city by the end of 2021 and basically gain criteria of a first-class city in 2025.
For targets in traffic, water drainage and supply, the city will strive to get 100% of city-level streets with synchronous investment; 100% of ward-level streets covered by asphalt in 2015. In addition, there will be 80% and 100% of households in use of clean water in 2025 and 2030, respectively…
The city will strive to reach the average housing area of 31.8 square meters per person in 2025. From now to 2025, the city will plant at least 30,000 urban green trees. In 2030, the city will plant additional 30,000 green trees and put a compound of green parks with around 6.5 hectares in Dong Hoa ward into use.
Creating breakthrough
During the 2021-2030 period, Di An city will further focus on urban rejuvenation and development, thereby bringing locals a living environment in line with the common development of surrounding cities; build up a synchronous infrastructure system towards sustainable development.
Mr.Tuan said that in order to fulfill the above targets, the city will concentrate on building up a synchronous infrastructure system in line with the local development orientation in association with programs, plans reducing traffic jams, preventing flooding and protecting the environment. The city will also bend on urban development in association with promoting public traffic systems; strive to create a breakthrough in terms of urban infrastructure development, urban development orientation based on the local public transportation corridor.
Besides, the city will attach special importance to seriously carrying out regulations on management of planning, construction order, making the local image more spacious and cleaner; rejuvenate illegal residential areas and water drainage projects, ensuring irrigation, improving the environment, raising the quality of the local people’s life…
