Di An city’s general planning must closely follow provincial general planning

On the afternoon of May 27, Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to a report on orientation for adjusting Di An city’s general planning until 2030, with an orientation to 2045 at provincial Administration Center.

Accordingly, the urban nature of Di An city is a service - education - industry urban area, a regional traffic hub. Particularly, industry is oriented towards high-tech development. The population size of Di An city is forecast to be about 750,000 people by 2030. The figure is about 900,000 people by 2045.  Di An will meet criteria for a first-class city by 2030 and will be a complete city with sustainable development by 2045.

At the meeting, the consulting unit proposed 13 connecting streets; 5 motivational streets. Regarding priority programs, the city will focus on investing in a number of key infrastructure projects, which have a great influence on the local socio-economic development; mobilize resources on building a city that meets criteria of a first-class, modern and sustainable city in the period of 2024-2030. In the period of 2031-2045, the city will further invest in completing the East - West, North - South axis system, high-speed railway lines, urban railways...

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Minh requested Di An city to set up a local general plan that must closely follow the province's general plan. Particularly, it is necessary to form up new streets to create urban traffic axes in association with the general urban traffic planning of the province. The city also needs to pay attention to development space along main roads, urban railways, areas around Ho Chi Minh city National University, Song Than - Suoi Tien Metro line, new Mien Dong Bus Station, Tan Dong Hiep quarry, East-North belt road...
