Di An I water plant has exceeded 50% of its design capacity, due to Di An town’s high urbanization process plus population growth at 15%/year.
Binh Duong Water Supply-Drainage and Environment One-Member Co.Ltd. (Biwase) has flexibly applied a task of socialization for investment of Di An II water plant, ensuring water supply for people’s daily life and production in the southern region of the province.
Investment capital from socialization
Since 2013, the capacity of Di An I water plant has been continuously maintained at 130,000 cubic meters-140,000 cubic meters per day, exceeding more than 40% of the design capacity. This was due to the town’s high urbanization process plus population growth at 15%/year.

Di An II water plant has been fulfilled and put into operation
Nguyen Van Thien, General Director of Biwase said that this was a thorny problem. Binh Duong has so far one of the country’s top localities in industry-service-urban development, so the water demand for the local people’s daily life and production is very high. Upon a socialization lesson under the motto of “The State and people work together” and the Government’s policy on corporate equitization, Biwase has decided to set up Thu Dau Mot Water Joint Stock Company to mobilize investment capital from people from all strata to be able to quickly implement the project of Di An II water plant at the local people and enterprises’increasing demand for water.
Mr.Thien said that thanks to having a contractor with lots of experience and application of new sci-tech advancements, the work has been fulfilled on schedule. In the upcoming dry season, it will contribute to ensuring water supply for people’s daily life and production in Di An, Thuan An towns and neighboring areas…

Ensuring clean water supply
Tran Chien Cong, Director of Di An water plant said that Di An I water plan has so far satisfied around 60% of the local people’s demand for clean water. There are now more than 90% of households in the remote and bordering areas of Di An town, including Binh Duong port, wards of Binh Thang, Ngai Thang in use of clean water. With a design capacity of 50,00 cubic meters per day, Di An II water plant will contribute to ensuring the local people’s demand for daily life and production.
According to Mr.Cong, underground water in some places like Di An town’s Tan Dong Hiep, Binh An wards have become exhausted, due to the impacts of construction. The process of industrial development has also made underground water in some residential areas of Thuan An town, Dong Nai’s Bien Hoa city, HCM city’s Thu Duc district get polluted. Hence, people living in the above areas must use water from Di An water plant, bringing its rate of coverage to 80%.
Possibly speaking, the birth of Thu Dau Mot Joint Stock Company has not only met the town’s people and enterprises’ demand for water, but also ensured water supply for people’s daily life and production in the southern region of the province.
