Di An town’s sector of hi-quality trade and services has been in the right direction. Achievements done by the sector have greatly contributed to the local process of improving the quality of economic development and people’s life.
Meeting demand
Under its plan on hi-quality trade-services development, Di An town has focused on planning urban areas and market, supermarket and trade center systems. The town has also joined hands with provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the People’s Committees of wards to make planning on a network of liquefied petroleum gas retail outlets.

Under the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”, the town has teamed up with relevant agencies to organize goods selling points with stabilized price in wards and at two supermarkets Big C, Vinatex, contributing to stabilizing the market and bringing Vietnamese goods to the local customers.
Nguyen Cong Danh, Head of Di An town’s Division of Economics said that the town last year developed 5 convenient stores in wards of Tan Dong Hiep and Tan Binh at the local demand for consumption. In addition, the town paid attention to improving the quality of cooperatives and cooperative groups. The whole town is now home to 11 cooperatives on trading ornamental plants, breeding pigeons with 133 members…; 14 cooperatives on transportation, trade-services, environmental hygiene…with 9,220 members, total charter capital of more than VND55.1bln and working capital of VND200bln.
In 2014, four places for building petrol and oil stations in the town were approved. The town also granted business certificates to 25 gas stores. Such these apart, leaders of the town instructed sectors and wards to eradicate street markets…
Trade-services promoted
Di An town has also paid attention to financial and banking services. The whole town is now home to 33 bank branches, transaction offices and 2 credit organizations. In general, they have worked very effectively at locals and enterprises’ demand for capital for production and consumption.
Regarding traffic and transportation, the town has so far installed signal lights at junctions of street No.10-Doc Lap Avenue, area 5 street-Ly Thuong Kiet street…while upgrading some streets. The town last year carried out 38 urban and rural traffic works with total length of 6,891 meters and total cost of more than VND36.8bln.
The whole town now has a total of 71 housing, resettlement, social housing and new urban areas approved with 796.88 hectares in total. Some with detail planning like Tan Long residential area, Tan Binh resettlement area, Binh Nguyen new urban are…have been implemented.
To improve the quality of the local hi-quality trade and services, Di An town will continue well realizing the Plan No.281/KH-UBND of provincial People’s Committee dated February 10, 2012 on hi-quality services development in the 2011-2015 period and vision till 2020. The town will also continue coordinating with investors to build plazas, supermarkets, markets and petrol-oil distribution network as approved while organizing markets towards trade civilization.
According to Di An town’s People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Vo Van Giau, the town will further boost State administration on trade-services; make urban and land use planning approved public. The town will also brace up enterprises that have had effective investment in trade-services to further expand their business scopes.
