Le Phu Tam, vice chairman of Di An town Farmers' Society said that after 3 years of implementing the movement of good farmers in production and business, the entire town establishes 60 breeding, farming and service teams with the participation of over 3,500 members. During the process of business and production, many members become examples of production and business.
Nguyen Thanh Sinh in Trung Thang quarter, Binh Thang ward is a young and dynamic farmer in agricultural production. After attending a conference on cricket breeding held by the town Economic Division and the ward Farmers' Society, he realized that this model was very feasible and simple, so he learned experiences of breeding crickets and started new business. Initially, he raised about 500 breeding crickets. Now, he increases his scale of breeding crickets for many times. At present, he sells more than one kg of crickets with the price of 150,000-200,000/kg per day. On average, he earns VND8-10mil per month.
In Binh An ward, there are many typical examples of agricultural production. Specifically, Nguyen Van Binh in Binh Thung quarter gains success in investing in mushroom farmstead on an area of 70sqm. He harvests about 30kg of mushroom per day. After getting success, he helps other farmer households develop model of planting mushroom.
Visiting orchid model of Pham Van Mot in Dong Tan quarter, Di An ward, we are surprised by a beautiful garden amid a populous urban area. Mot said "doing agriculture amid the heart of urban area is not simple. The difficult thing is deprived from environment, natural condition and disadvantaged land and more. So, farmers in urban areas must equip general knowledge to improve difficulties in production".
Actively grasping knowledge, Mot applied scientific cultivation measures, modern technology to build a successful model. At present, his orchid and ornamental tree models bring an income of billions of dong every year.
Meanwhile, Ha Minh Cuong in Tan Phu 1 quarter, Tan Binh ward maintains effectively his orchid garden. With the area of nearly 1,000sqm his orchid garden gives an income of hundreds of millions of dong every year.
"Annually, 7 out of 7 branches of Di An town Farmers' Society get the title of strong sub-socities. Not only spurring good production and business, the town farmers join positively in movements of building cultural life in residential areas. Now the rate of members winning the cultural title accounts for more than 97%. Over the past time, the society at all levels contribute more than VND2bil to build 24,700meters of rural roads. In the period of 2014-2017, the society strives to win over 80% of farmer members reaching the title of good farmers in production and business at all levels, pushes up transfer of breeding and farming production models in line with the urban agricultural trend", Le Phu Tam, vice chairman of Di An town Farmers' Society said.
