On
these days, Di An town’s Binh Thang ward are promptly carrying out activities
in celebration of the 39th anniversary of South Vietnam Liberation and
national Reunification Day (April 30) and the 10th anniversary of
its establishment. Nguyen Cong Danh, Secretary of the ward’s Party Committee
cum Chairman of the ward’s People’s Committee said: “We are actively
implementing a plan to improve the image of Binh Thang ward. There will be
obvious changes for next three years”.

Industry, service as guide
After its 10-year establishment, Di An town’s Binh Thang ward has reached great achievements in many aspects. Covering 530 hectares with 12,690 people, Binh Thang ward borders two big cities, including Dong Nai’s Bien Hoa city and HCM city. It has so far gained a strong growth towards industry, trade, services and agriculture.
In terms of industrial manufacture, Binh Thang ward is home to tens of enterprises together with the 25-hectare Binh An Garment and Textile Industrial Park supplying garment and textile materials for enterprises in the region.
There are also tens of facilities trading motorbikes and machines along Ha Noi highway. Especially, the Tan Van logistics park with a total area of 73.2 hectares which is being implemented for the first phase of over 30 hectares will be the highlight of the local hi-quality service development.
Regarding agricultural production, Binh Thang ward is also well-known with a breeding fish raising model and some urban agriculture models on growing orchids, mushrooms, crickets…
According to Mr.Danh, Binh Thang ward is striving to maintain its economic growth in accordance with the set targets. The ward will team up with relevant agencies to make investment in socio-economic infrastructure; further create a strong change in State administration on land, construction, urban order; control over 100% of cases causing environmental pollution, illegal construction cases…
Currently, the ward actively gets involved in the programs of rural traffic, urban rejuvenation, administrative procedure reform, corruption and wastefulness prevention, thrift practice, ensuring social welfare, improving people’s lives, basically eradicating poor households and maintaining stability in all aspects.
It is known that Binh Thang ward now enjoys a lot of advantages after overcoming difficulties in the 2012 and 2013 period. In 2014, the situation of the ward gets brighter with a financial source for the local activities, especially spending on wage and other activities as stipulated. Under the resolution of the local People’s Council, the ward’s State budget collection in 2014 is VND10.7bln. Meanwhile, the figure in Q1 2014 reached VND3.1bln or 31% of the estimate.
Infrastructure built in a synchronous way
As a locality bordering two big cities, including HCM city and Dong Nai’s Bien Hoa city, Binh Thang ward enjoys many advantages. But, it also bears 4 main works at central and provincial levels.
Although being key works, they are carried out very slowly, due to difficulties in compensation and site clearance. They include Ha Noi highway-Mien Dong Coach Station, My Phuoc-Tan Van expressway, Dong Nai bridge and Tan Van Logistics Park.
Along with the above works, Binh Thang ward has focused on the local works such as administrative center, Binh Thang junior high school, Ngai Thang market… Vo Trong Tai, Vice-Chairman of Binh Thang ward’s People’s Committee said that despite facing difficulties, the ward has continued cooperating with the town to bend on compensation and site clearance to promote construction of main works at central and local levels, aiming to create a highlight in terms of infrastructure in the local industrialization and modernization process.
As planned, Binh Thang ward will have an industrial park, a port, a railway from HCM city, especially Ha Noi highway. The ward’s government and people now put focus on promoting industrial manufacture, trade-service towards building up a locality with synchronous socio-economic infrastructure corresponding to the “gateway” of connection for stronger investment attraction and integration.
