Enterprises are losing their positions in the market although they are local producers. Foreign enterprises seem to dominate them. Is it really the distribution that matters?

Buyers are selecting goods in supermarket For farm products, producers are facing output pressure in Binh Duong Province. They have technology and good farming practice, however, the loss of value in trans-trading has cost them a lot and they just can not compensate for what has been given out for production. Thus, they can not develop production and the market sees foreign products all around.Except for stronghold enterprises, other small and medium enterprises face the same pressure. Mr. Le Phuoc Vu, Chairman of Hoa Sen Steel Group stressed that the distribution system has helped the group to root up in the market.Recently, Business Supporting Association (BSA) has launched distribution mapping across provinces and cities in a bid to gradually reduce the ‘distance’ of enterprises in market accessing. BSA has formed groups of averagely ten members each to go everywhere for surveying, recording, and drawing distribution maps. And, the data BSA has collected is valuable to predict where and when buyers are ready to buy.In Binh Duong Province, some market places are not yet well-put and have been deserted by their own buyers. In Dau Tieng and Phu Giao, over 16 thousand workers are the active buyers who fail to access the products and goods due to bad distribution channels.Mrs. Vu Kim Hanh, Director of BSA has once asserted that local people would be very eager to be part of market session bring goods and products to rural areas; however, they have been left behind after the session and lost in nowhere to buy the once available products and goods. And, distribution mapping seems to be helpful for enterprises to restructure the business plans. In many countries in the world, distribution mapping is common to identify potential market. In Vietnam, the method is still new despite its efficiency in mapping density and allocation of market places. As for governing authorities, distribution mapping is essential for them to plan for infra-construction of markets, supermarkets, commercial centers and other trading places. Distribution mapping also ties up flows of goods and merchandises to prevent illegal products and fakes from turning down the buying trust.Reported by Trung Dong – Translated by Vi Bao
