Country exports 400,000 tonnes of rice in January
By the end of January 2012, Vietnam had exported 400,000 tonnes of rice to earn USD 240 million, marking a 25.4 percent decrease in volume and a 14.2 percent reduction in value compared to January last year, according to rice export results announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Phu Long Bridge inaugurated to celebrate the spring and Party leadership
By witnesses of leaders from Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong Province, the Urban Traffic Management Zone No. 3 under Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport held a ceremony to inaugurate and officially open Phu Long Bridge to public traffic connecting Ha Huy Giap Street (in District 12, HCMC) to Lai Thieu Ward (Thuan An Town, Binh Duong Province). The bridge is 950 meters long 26 meters wide with body of 597.4 meters and two leading spans of 352.6 meters. The lanes are designed as two parallel bridges, enabling vehicles to reach high speed of 80 km/h. Total cost was at VND 688 billion which was extracted from budget of HCMC and Thuan An Town.
