According to statistics from Ben Cat district’s Department of Economics, there have been no communes in the district meeting all 19 criteria set for new rural areas.

But with high determination, Ben Cat district will strive to reach 6 out of 14 communes meeting the new rural model's standards and have all 14 communes fulfilling their plans on new rural construction by 2015.
The district will also focus on developing rural infrastructure under the new line in order to reach 100% of communes meeting the standards for new rural areas by 2020. The average income of people herein will be 2.5 times higher than the current level.
To achieve the above targets, Ben Cat district has considered and implemented its projects on promoting agricultural production, industrial manufacture, traditional crafts and services, contributing to improving the local people’s income. The district has also made many incentive policies for investment attraction
Economic fever considered the important measure
Realizing that economy is a fever for the new rural development, Ben Cat district has aimed at consolidating and fostering the forms of collective economy in the rural region.
The district will also make efforts in building the linkages among farmers, business people, scientists and the State; strength transfer of sci-tech advancements for locals; improve knowledge for managerial staff to meet requirements for new rural construction; help locals get access to the market for effective production and business, contributing to improving their income and positively impacting on the local program to build new rural areas.

According to Tran Hung Son, head of Ben Cat district’s Department of Economics, the district is also considering to put forward financial measures for each concrete project to support its program on new rural area construction…
