Ben Cat town’s Farmers Association over the past time promoted the emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business” among officials and members. As a result, many local farmers also rose up out of poverty and got rich from effective agricultural models.
Creating optimal conditions for farmers to rise up
Ben Cat town’s emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business” achieved strong development with 12,996 farmers winning the “good farm” title at all levels over the past three years. In 2016 alone, there were 4,106 farmers recognized as good ones at all levels.

Noticeably, the quality and effectiveness of the “good farmer in production and business” emulation movement was improved. Many large-scale models were developed through the emulation movement with the annual income of VND100million and above, generating jobs for rural laborers.
In addition, many farmers rose up out of poverty and got rich from the emulation movement. Nguyen Van Thanh, a farmer in Tan Dinh ward was a typical example for this. He is now the owner of a quails-breeding farm with the annual income of more than VND300million.
Or, Nguyen Thanh Giau in An Dien commune rose up from an orchid-growing model with the annual income of more than VND500million, creating jobs for 10 laborers with the monthly income of between VND4million and VND5million. He said that thanks to the attention and help of the local authorities at all levels, he bravely got involved in the model. As a result, he has so far taken fruits from the model.
Effective models replicated
Together with sci-tech transfer and vocational training, the town’s Farmers Association over the past time attached special importance to disbursing loans from many different resources for members to develop production-business models. Particularly, the association coordinated with the Bank for Social Policies and many other organizations to disburse more than VND51billion in loan for 4,600 farmers… over the past three years.
Leaders of the town said that the “good farmer in production and business” emulation movement also helped the local farmers be more coherence in agricultural production, thereby forming up effective cooperative groups, namely An Tay apricot blossom village cooperative group, Phu An girdle cake cooperative group, An Dien orchid cooperative group…Through the emulation movement, many farmers also created effective models on sci-tech application in agricultural production while successfully applying urban and hi-tech agricultural models.
For the emulation movement further upholding its efficiency, the town’s Farmers Association will maintain and replicate effective production-business models; continue mobilizing farmers to make the shift of animal and plant structure in order to well tap the local advantages in terms of workforce and soil. The association will also further brace up farmers to enrich themselves, contributing to victoriously realizing the local tasks on socio-economic development.
Bui Duy Hien, Secretary of the town’s Party Committee said that the town’s “good farmer in production and business” emulation movement gained major results over the past three years. Particularly, the lives of locals were improved very obviously. Many families reached the annual income of VND100million and above. Additionally, members of the association shared mutual experience in production-business, helping each other rise up out of poverty, contributing to fulfilling the local target on new rural construction.
