Binh Duong province has implemented many support policies for cooperatives, cooperative groups, improving their production efficiency, increasing laborers’income. Along with the movement of new-rural construction, the model of cooperatives and cooperative groups in the province has reached in-depth development in the right direction, actively contributing to the local socio-economic development.
Positive changes
After more than 15 years of implementing the Resolution N0.13-NQ/TW of the 5th plenum of the 9th Party Central conference on further improving the effectiveness of collective economy, the province has reached good results in this field, significantly contributing to the local socio-economic development. Province-based cooperatives have worked stably with expansion in terms of investment capital, business scope and scale. Some have bravely applied sci-tech advancements into production and business.

Over the past years, Nhan Duc Agricultural Cooperative in North Tan Uyen district’s Hieu Liem commune continued affirming its position in growing citrus-fruit trees via stable production-business with high revenue. Tran Thanh Co, Director of the cooperative said that with hi-economic efficiency, his model of developing citrus-fruit trees should be multipfied widely. Currently, the cooperative’s oranges are consumed at large markets at the selling price of VND45,000 and VND50,000 per kg. On average, the cooperative can reach more than VND30billion in annual revenue, creating jobs for more than 30 laborers with the monthly income of VND6million and VND7million per person.
Whilst, Thanh Long Transportation- Civil Engineering Cooperative in Ben Cat town’s My Phuoc ward is an outstanding unit in transportation-construction. Nguyen Van Dien, Director of the cooperative said that the cooperative now has 122 members with the annual revenue of between VND25million and VND30million. So far, the cooperative has created jobs for more than 120 laborers with the monthly income of VND7million and VND8million. To achieve such results, the cooperative has bravely improved production technologies for better development.
Province-based People’s Credit Funds have constantly developed in both quality and quantity, bringing laborers the stable income of between VND10million and VND12million per person per month, contributing to the local socio-economic development. Vo Minh Chanh, CEO of An Thanh People’s Credit Fund in Thuan An town’s An Thanh ward said that the fund has been always proactive to put forward solutions to remove its difficulties for better development.
Further improving, developing
The province’s support policies have also contributed to the development of cooperatives and People’s Credit Funds along with their efforts. It is known that newly-established cooperatives in the province have complied with the Law on Cooperative 2012, mobilized many resources for investment, diversified business scopes and maintained the average income of laborers at between VND6million and VND7million per person per month.
The whole province is now home to 130 cooperative groups on cultivation and animal husbandry with 1,258 members with total capital of more than VND40billion; 178 cooperatives with 30,285 members with total capital of nearly VND800billion. In 2019, province-based cooperatives, People’s Credit Funds reached more than VND1.67trillion in total revenue, generating jobs for nearly 15,000 laborers.
According to Le Thanh Son, Vice-Chairman of provincial Alliance of Cooperatives, Party organizations at all levels of the province need to strengthen Steering Boards of Collective Economy at all levels for better development. Relevant sectors also need to help organizations, individuals to remove obstacles in the process of establishing new cooperatives and complying with the Law on Cooperative 2012 while attaching special importance to setting up cooperatives with scopes in line with the local advantages.
