Binh Duong urban areas will develop modernly, connecting with the Southern key economic zone and will be continued to upgrade and invest in trade centers, supermarkets in attachment to development of industrial parks and more. These are main contents set out at the 3-year preliminary conference on implementing the program of hi-quality service development for the period of 2011-2015, vision to 2020 held by the provincial People’s Committee on March 4. Tran Van Nam, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee hosted the conference.
Remarkable results
After 3 years of implementing the provincial party committee’s action plan No.21 on developing hi-quality service for the period of 2011-2015, vision to 2020 and the provincial People’s Committee’s Plan No.281, local service sector reached remarkable results on many areas. Of these, tourism promotion and introduction, tourism development, investment in infrastructure facility, new and hi-grade service and more continued to be developed sharply.
Especially, fields of finance, banking, post office and telecommunication, customs, tax, healthcare, education, urban development and more showed a synchronous development and well met local requirements of industrialization and modernization.
Nguyen Phuoc Viet Dung, vice head of the provincial Customs said that customs service continues to develop with 17 bonded warehouses and 17 enterprises operated as customs agents. The local customs sector uses advanced container machines.
Since April, 2014, the sector has applied VNACCS/VCIS - a modern e-clearance system, dedicated to electronic processing of air/sea cargo to enable faster and more efficient customs clearance.
Meanwhile, tax sector has also applied online tax declaration, reaching rate of 98.2% and online tax payment since Sept. 2014. Besides, developing pace of service for the period of 2011-2014 was estimated at 21.5%, accounting for 36.2% of local economic structure. Service of banking finance was developed strongly.
Until now, the entire province has had 65 credit organizations with increase of the total outstanding loan of 15.7%, satisfying basic demand of capital.
Improving quality of service
According to assessment of departments, agencies and localities, local service sector has been developed in right way, winning basic goals and contributing importantly to local development of socio-economy, national defense and security. However, some fields remain shortage of synchronous development, including package logistics, hi-tech manpower training, technology transfer, service for entertainment demand and more.
According to Le Huu Phuoc, director of the provincial department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, Binh Duong should continue to invest strongly in material facility, traffic infrastructure to develop eco-tourism service and more. In addition, the locality should spur investment on socialization of tourism service, cultural, sport and entertainment works and so on.
Addressing the conference, Tran Van Nam stressed that the program of developing hi-quality service of the provincial party committee and People’s Committee is very important, is a foundation for local socio-economic growth to raise a new height. Therefore, departments, agencies and localities should specify key tasks to carry out right orientations.
