In recent years, Ben Cat town’s power consumption has reached an annual average growth of 11%. The town’s power output in 2015 is expected to rise by 15%-17%, the highest figure of the province’s power sector. Hence, Binh Duong Power Company’s Ben Cat branch has taken measures to fulfill its plan in 2015 and in the following years.

Growth in association with quality
Despite a prolonged economic downturn plus power cuts to serve construction of the national key works in 2014, Ben Cat town’s commercial power output still saw a growth of 9.04% compared to the target set out by Binh Duong Power Company with 1.482 billion kWh of power, 89%.1 of which was for industrial manufacture.
The town’s power output in 2015 is expected to grow by 15%-17%, due to economics further getting thriving. This is also a great challenge for the town’s Power branch to ensure a stable supply of power for the local socio-economic development.
Nguyen Minh Son, Director of Binh Duong Power Company’s Ben Cat branch said that the local power sector has well taken measures on the reduction of power loss in technical and business phases in a bid to ensure a growth in output in association with the quality.
Locals actively responding to power saving
According to Huynh Thu Lap, Vice-Chairman of Ben Cat town’s People’s Committee, 2015 is the third consecutive year the town has carried out the movement of “Cultural hamlets, quarters with power saving”. The movement has not only brought the locality good results, but also formed up a cultural beauty in locals’ daily life via concrete and practical actions.
The town has also sped up propaganda work on power saving with a lot of slogans and pictures hung at State agencies. The local households and enterprises have realized the benefit and importance of power saving, so they have actively responded to this. Thanks to well implementing power saving measures, the town last year saved 49,000 kWh of power. The number of the local households getting involved in the “Cultural hamlet, quarter with power saving” movement also increased to 10,070.
Pham Van Chinh, a resident in Thoi Hoa ward’s quarter 4 said that his quarter has been commended in the “Cultural hamlet, quarter with power saving” movement for two consecutive years. Thanks to mobilization work well realized, the local households have actively responded to power saving.
In response to the “Cultural hamlet, quarter with power saving” movement, the town’s sector of education and training also regularly made dissemination of information about power saving and safety among pupils at extracurricular meetings or flag-saluting ceremonies over the past time. The sector also organized competitions on power safety and was seen them as a content of the local educational program for pupils.
