The whole commune is now home to 4 cooperative groups, including 3 cooperative groups on breeding cows and 1 cooperative group on growing mangosteens. Noticeably, the cooperative group on growing mangosteens is developed on 6.6 hectares from 9 households with VietGAP certificate and output estimated at 16.5 tons per year. Regarding animal husbandry, the cooperative group on breeding cows and buffaloes in Go Moi and Lam Vo hamlets includes 11 member households with 5-11 cows each. The average income of the cooperative group’s members is around VND100million per year.
Nguyen Van Ty, Head of Suoi Cat hamlet’s mangosteen cooperative group said that joining in the cooperative group is a right decision of farmers, which is in line with the economic development of households in the rural region. This also helps farmers have opportunities to share experience in production, get support in terms of loans, sci-tech advancements for better development. Currently, the income of his family as well as other members is higher than that of the previous periods. In fact, commune-based cooperative groups bring direct benefits to members, generate jobs for laborers and contribute to the local poverty reduction and hunger eradication.
