Over the past years, Bau Bang district’s Farmers ‘Association boosted patriotic emulation movements and received enthusiastic response from officials, members. These movements also contributed to reducing the number of poor households and making the local new-style rural construction program.

According to the assessment of the results of the implementation of the “good farmer in production-business” emulation movement for 2017-2019, the movement was a center of socio-economic life in the rural region of Bau Bang district, thereby developing models with hi-economic efficiency.

The model of Moraka orchid growing in Lai Hung commune brings farmers the annual income of VND600million-VND650million
One of the district’s effective models at present is the 13-hectare pomelo, tangerine, orange, durian-growing farm of Le Hong Khanh in Tru Van Tho commune. His farm is developed under good agricultural practice and mechanized from production, packaging to consumption.
Currently, products of the farm are consumed in HCM city and Ha Noi with the annual output of pomelo, sweet tangerine, king orange at 200, 800 and 200 tons…, respectively. It generates jobs for 10-15 rural laborers with the monthly income of VND5million and above. For many consecutive years, Mr.Khanh was recognized as a good farmer at all levels.
Many other farmers in the district have risen out of poverty and become outstanding individuals in production-business. They include Nguyen Thanh Thuy with the model of pomelo growing and swallow breeding in Long Nguyen commune; Tran Van Van with the model of pig breeding in Lai Hung commune; Ho Van Thanh with the model of fruit tree growing and swallow breeding in Lai Uyen township; Dang Van Dong with the model of bamboo shoot growing and crocodile breeding in Tru Van Tho commune…
Emulation movement in association with new-style rural construction
Over the past time, the district’s Farmers ‘Associations at all levels joined hands in the local new-style rural construction program. Their officials and members actively got involved in rural infrastructure construction by contributing nearly VND5.7billion and 3,327 working days to making 228 km of rural roads, upgrading 29 km of canals…
Nguyen Thi Huyen Tram, Vice-Chairman of the district’s Farmers ‘Association said that the association has always seen the emulation movement of “good farmer in production-business” as a major task, aiming to promote the local economy and step by step improve the lives of rural people. The association and its branches have always attached special importance to supporting and mobilizing farmers to make the shift of plant and animal structure for better development.
In the coming time, according to Mrs.Tram, the association will strengthen emulation movements launched by provincial and central authorities; propagandize and mobilize members to actively make the shift of plant and animal structure towards goods production, sci-tech application in production; be proactive to coordinate with relevant agencies to tap resources to support members in production expansion, improving their lives, contributing to sustainable rural development with the lives of locals enhanced constantly.
