In the face of farming land narrowed, due to the process of industrialization and modernization, Di An town has encouraged farmers to foster hi-tech and urban agricultural models with hi-economic efficiency.

Similarly, Lu Van Tuyen, from Hai Duong province said that he spent more than VND1billion on developing a safe vegetables growing model in Tan Binh ward four years ago. Thanks to the attention and help of the town’s Division of Economics, his production model has worked stably. Currently, his family can supply the market with around 200 kg of various vegetables with the average price of 15,000 per kg.
Noticeably, he has successfully researched and developed a 300-squ.m chocolate cherry tomato garden with the selling price of between VND80,000 and VND100,000 per kg. Realizing hi-economic efficiency from chocolate cherry tomato, he has decided to further develop this new kind of plant.
Improving urban agricultural quality
According to the town’s Division of Economics, the whole town is now home to around 70 urban agricultural models with more than 10 hectares in total. Most of them have upheld their hi-economic efficiency with the average income of VND600million per hectare per year.
Over the past time, the town’s Division of Economics coordinated with relevant agencies to organize training courses on sci-tech transfer as well as trips to effective models in and out of the province for farmers.
The town is expected to further boost training courses on sci-tech transfer, increase a task of supporting loans for farmers to promote various plants and animals with hi-economic efficiency. Especially, the town will attach special importance to developing cooperatives and cooperation groups among farmers, contributing to bringing a stable consumption market to them.
Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of the town’s Plant Protection Station said that over the past time, the station gave support in terms of hi-quality nurslings and techniques for farmers, helping them to reach better results in production. With their flexibility and creativeness, many farmers have surmounted challenges and applied sci-tech advancements into production for better development.
Amid the current process of vigorous urban development, urban agricultural models are seen as an indispensable trend. Possibly seeing, with their flexibility and creativeness plus right development orientations, it is believed that farmers in the town will enjoy opportunities to rise up from agricultural production.
