Along with its hi-tech agricultural development strategy, Phu Giao district has paid attention to the local industrial, home industrial development. The district has promulgated the Action Program No.22a on industrial, home industrial development and taken fruits from the program.
Industrial compounds, markets formed up
To Van Dat, Vice-Chairman of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee said that under the Program No.22a, the district’s People’s Committee has conducted functional agencies to set ups plans on solutions for trade-industrial development. Accordingly, the district has attached special importance to building markets, plazas and supermarkets. Also thanks to well realizing targets on industrial, home industrial and trade development, the district has gained huge changes in economic development.

The district has so far formed up some industrial, home industrial groups in terms of food processing, mineral exploitation, building material production, woodwork processing…with small and middle scale. The district has also fostered 5 industrial compounds…
Besides, the district has fulfilled planning of the rural market network for new-style rural communes. There are now 5 markets with effective operation at locals’ demand for buying and selling goods. Temporary markets have also been formed up in some communes, namely An Binh, An Thai, Phuoc Sang, Tan Hiep…In addition, the district has paid attention to industrial promotion, significantly contributing to the local industrial development.
Always facilitating industrial development
In 2018 alone, the district’s industrial, home industrial production value was more than VND3.33trillion or 100.86% of the plan. The district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was estimated at more than VND5trillion, up 20.76% compared to that of 2017. Till now, the whole district has had a total of 516 industrial, home industrial facilities with around 3,000 laborers.
To continue well realizing the Program No.22a, the district’s People’s Committee will make public the local plans on industrial development, land and list of projects calling for investment; hasten the progress of site clearance for investment projects; recheck to have effective adjustment for land-use plans towards sustainable economic and environmental development.
Based on industrial compounds approved, the district will mobilize all resources for construction of infrastructure facilities to absorb investors; give priority to projects in processing industry in association with the local material areas, contributing to promoting the local rural industrialization, creating jobs towards the shift of the local labor structure.
The district will also continue making efforts in improving the local investment climate, facilitating enterprises’ development; further propose solutions in line with the local real situation in industrial, home industrial development…
