Binh Duong has begun implementing its cleaner production program since 2012. Till now, the province’s activities of energy saving and cleaner production have reaped important results, contributing to minimizing environmental pollution.
Awareness of energy saving raised
Phan Thi Khanh Duyen, Director of the Industrial Promotion and Development Consultancy Center under provincial Department of Industry and Trade said for the province’s cleaner production program in the 2012 and 2015 period getting results under the set plan, the center teamed up with relevant agencies to speed up propaganda work by many forms. Possibly speaking, implementing solutions on energy saving and cleaner production is the best selection for enterprises to use energy economically and effectively. This has helped them partially reduce production costs, but still ensure the quality of products.

According to Le Ba Linh, Director of Tu Bon Lacquer One-Member Co.Ltd., his company has received guidance of the implementation of cleaner production solutions with a low level of cost from the center. The company has also regularly updated energy saving solutions, which are properly applied in each production section. Along with setting up a model of monitoring over saving energy for better results, the company has always attached special importance to propaganda work, raising all staff’s awareness and action of energy saving.
Effectively realizing activities
Over the past time, the province’s functional agencies organized training courses, workshops on cleaner production and energy saving for managerial officials and technicians. Many visits to enterprises that have effectively applied cleaner production solutions in and out of province were also organized.
Provincial Department of Industry and Trade also had good coordination with relevant agencies in carrying out industrial promotion activities in association with cleaner production and energy saving. So far, the department has made the detailed assessment of cleaner production for 22 businesses.
Thanks to propaganda work well implemented, most businesses in the province have known the significance and benefit of cleaner production. Till now, 25% of province-based industrial production facilities with the potential of cleaner production application have realized cleaner production steps with 5%-15% of the level of consumption on energy and raw materials over a unit of product saved.
In general, after the period of implementing the Strategy on Cleaner Industrial Production Strategy to 2020 approved by the Prime Minister at the Decision No.1419/QD-TTg dated September 7, 2009, plus the integral efforts by relevant agencies, the province has raised managerial officials and business community’s awareness of the benefit of applying cleaner solutions in industrial production.
