The province’s “good farmer in production-business” movement reached strong development over the past years. This is also one of main movements launched by the Central Committee of Vietnam Farmers’ Association.
Motivation for farmers in economic development
Over the past time, provincial Farmers’ Association and its branches jointly organized training courses, seminars for farmers. Along with organizing visits to effective models in and out of the province, they boosted a program on making the linkage between State, businesses, scientists and farmers; supply farmers with nurslings, fertilizer and pesticide, facilitating their agricultural production.

Till now, provincial Farmers’ Association and its branches have also helped 4,000 farming households to get nearly VND100billion in preferential loan from the Fund for Farmers and more than 22,000 ones with more than VND385.5billion in loan from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies’Binh Duong branch to develop production models. In the 2011-2015 period alone, the whole province had a total of 130,000 farmers to register to take part in the “good farmer in production-business” movement. Among them, there were more than 105,000 recognized as good farmers at all levels.
They also associated the “good farmer in production-business” movement with new rural construction. Accordingly, under the motto of “State and people work together”, they mobilized farmers to take part in upgrading rural roads, dredging in-field canals…Over the past 9 months, farmers in the province contributed more than VND6billion, 5,882 working days to upgrading 598 kilometers of rural roads, dredging 71,5 kilometers of in-field canals while donating 36,831 meters of land to constructing public works…
Role-models
Through the “good farmer in production-business” movement, many effective models on cultivation and animal husbandry appeared in the province. Provincial Farmers’ Associations at all levels, officials and members were also honored for their excellent performance in activities. Especially, three outstanding individuals in the “good farmer in production and business” movement, namely Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep in Phu Giao district’s Vinh Hoa commune, Nguyen Son in Thuan An town’s Binh Chuan ward and Nguyen Thi Yen in Ben Cat town’s An Dien commune were awarded the certificates of merit of Prime Minister.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep is seen as an exemplary role-model in the movement of “good farmer in production and business”. From bare hands, she rose up to get rich and is now the owner of a farm with more than 1,000 pigs for meat and 200 sows together with 9 hectares of rubber trees, reaching the annual income of VND4billion. With achievements done, she was recognized as a good farmer for many consecutive years.
Nguyen Hoang Vinh, Chairman of provincial Farmers’ Association said that the “good farmer in production and business” movement has contributed to promoting the local agricultural sector with comprehensive development while forming up specialized agricultural areas in association with processing and sci-tech application in production, thereby developing new models with high economic efficiency, making contributions to the local socio-economic development.
