Binh Duong province has continued developing industrial parks (Ips) and industrial compounds (Ics) in the northern region after its southern Ips were basically covered.
Gap narrowed
Binh Duong has spent more than VND3trillion on building 3 main streets for the local industrial and urban parks, namely the North Tan Uyen-Phu Giao-Dong Phu street of 20.3km; the Phu Giao-DT750 street of 14km and the Bau Bang-Phu Giao street of 13km. These streets will be built with 6 lanes of 40.5 meters in width.

A glance of VSIP 2 in Ben Cat town
The province’s effort in strengthening rural streets and synchronous infrastructure facilities has not only narrowed the geographical gap between urban and rural areas, but also been considered as the premise for the local socio-economic development. This is because all the above streets go through most northern Ips and Ics, namely Singapore Ascendas Protrade, Viet Huong 2, Tan Binh, Bau Bang, Tan My, Tam Lap, Thanh Tuyen…
Some localities, including My Phuoc, Phu An in Ben Cat town; Tan Thanh in North Tan Uyen district; Lai Uyen in Bau Bang district…, with agriculture production as main development have made a lot of changes. The speed of industrialization and modernization herein is taking place very quickly.
In 2017, Ben Cat town’s economic growth was at 23.5% compared to 2016. The town’s economic structure was shifted towards industry-service and agriculture with 80.6%, 18.9% and 0.5%, respectively. The town’s total production value was estimated at more than VND115.7trillion. The average income of the local people reached VND 93.2million per capital per year.
Bau Bang district’s industrial production value was VND11.42trillion, up nearly 18% against 2016. This was seen as one of positive signs for the province’s strategy promoting Ips and Ics in the northern region…
Strongly absorbing FDI capital
So far, My Phuoc IPs 1, 2, 3 and 4 have lured more than 400 FDI projects with total capital of more than US$3billion. Among these projects, many with great capital include Kumho Asian Corp. with US$360million; Graft Vina Paper Co. with US$180million; Maruzen Foods Corp. with US$104million; Tomoku Vietnam Co. with nearly US$50million…
Bau Bang IP has also just absorbed Polytex Far Eastern Vietnam Co.Ltd.’s expanded project by 400 hectares with total investment capital of US$274million. In addition, North Tan Uyen district has lured hundreds of domestic and FDI businesses.
The above result showed that the province’s policy to develop Ips and Ics in the northern region is sound. The Government has also approved the province’s project on adjustment of planning for Ips till 2020. Accordingly, most Ips and ICS in the northern region of the province, namely Lai Hung, Cay Truong, North Tan Uyen, Rach Bap, Viet Huong 2…, will be expanded by 200 hectares, 346 hectares, 440 hectares, 12 hectares, respectively, at demand for the province’s industrial development.
The birth of Ips and Ics in the northern region has helped the province strongly absorb investment capital for industrial and urban development. The province will further mobilize all resources to create the foundation for the local industrial development; strengthen administrative reform; build up a synchronous infrastructure system; enhance the quality of services at investors’ demand…
