Dau Tieng is an agricultural district but along with modern techniques, local farmers have in recent years reached high economic results, thanks to new technical application in production. An orchid-planting model of Nguyen Ngoc Hoa in Thanh Tuyen commune is one of typical activities.
Grasping the rising demand of flower and ornamental trees, Nguyen Ngoc Hoa has built an orchid farm on his small land area. Initially, he planted 300 orchid trees with a wide range of varieties and learnt experiences from books and newspapers.
His orchid farm is purchased in guarantee by orchid business workshop in the HCMC’s Cu Chi district. Therefore, his orchid farm had not enough products to sell in the past Tet.
He not only reaches efficiency from orchid-planting model but enjoys success in other models of raising chicken and pig. He has so far taken advantage of available food in his garden to breed 400 chickens.
