In reality, considering industrial development as a breakthrough foundation for socio-economic growth, Binh Duong has over the past years focused on building industrial parks. After an effective launching of industrial parks in the local Southern region, the local leaders mapped out planning of industrial development in the Northern region to spur economy, bringing a good life for local people.
As such, industrial parks in Ben Cat in general and My Phuoc industrial parks in particular have been established. With hi-unity and response of local residents, site clearance and compensation for building industrial parks become more advantaged, helping construction of industrial parks become more rapid.
Therefore, Ben Cat town now has 9 industrial parks and compounds with the total area of nearly 3,200ha. Specifically, Viet Huong II IP and An Tay IP at An Tay commune have absorbed nearly 60 foreign projects, capitalized at more than US$700mil. Especially, My Phuoc industrial parks at My Phuoc and Thoi Hoa wards are considered as the province’s leading industrial parks. After more than 12 years of operation, My Phuoc 1, 2 and 3 industrial parks have attracted more than 350 foreign projects with the total capital of over US$3bil.
The highlighted character at My Phuoc industrial parks lies in big projects such as Kumho Asiana Corporation’s tyre plant with the total investment capital of US$360mil, Graft Vina Paper Company’s US$180mil plant, Maruzen Foods Corporation’s US$104mil factory, Kirin Vietnam Co.Ltd.’s US$60mil plant and more.
Promoting hi-unity
Efficiency of industrial parks in Ben Cat in general and My Phuoc industrial parks has contributed importantly to industrial development, creating high production value, employment, income and more for the local residents.
After 12 years, Ben Cat has become an industrialization locality leading in the province with 1,530 local and foreign enterprises, capitalized at over VND14,600bil and nearly US$3.9bil.
Thanks to rapid increase of the number of companies, the town industrial production value won more than VND50,000bil in the past year.
Economic development helps Ben Cat well complete social welfare works such as schools, healthcare, houses for laborers. As such, all children of immigrant laborers in Ben Cat go to schools in their right age.
These elements plus advantages of industrial park infrastructure and other economic infrastructure have helped Ben Cat lure many enterprises, making up an important driving force for local socio-economic development.
Ben Cat town has presently enjoyed many advantages for development in the coming time. Aside from industrial parks with synchronous and modern technical infrastructure facilities, routes of My Phuoc-Tan Van, trans-Asia, Ho Chi Minh and belt roads are under construction. These roads will become crucial bridges in the Southern region. This is considered as a foundation for Ben Cat to strongly develop in the coming time.
Possibly speaking, Ben Cat town people have cooperated together to contribute to creating infrastructure facilities of industrial parks, urban areas and more. This shows that the instruction of building industrial parks as a lever makes up an impetus for local socio-economic development.
