Efforts from the first days of the year

Looking at numbers in February 2023, many indicators increased compared to the previous month such as: Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is estimated to increase by 23.3% over the previous month and by 18.3% over the same period in 2022; total retail sales of goods and services increased by 11.1% over the same period; export turnover increased 42.7% over the previous month and 25.7% over the same period; import turnover increased by 30.9% over the previous month and 29.2% over the same period; social security, activities to care for and support the people's material and mental lives were well implemented; strengthen the connection between workers and businesses in job creation, income generation for workers...

However, over the first 2 months of 2023, several indicators, such as industrial production, export and import, decreased compared to the same period last year; disbursement of public investment capital was low compared to the plan; progress of provincial planning, adjustment of general urban planning at district level is still slow. The public investment capital plan in 2023, as of February 15, 2023, only achieved 2.7% of the plan assigned by the Provincial People's Council and reached 4.7% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.

Therefore, in order to achieve targets and complete key tasks of 2023, right from the first months of the year, provincial leaders promptly organized many meetings to listen to reports on solutions and directly survey, inspect, and urge the implementation, especially of key traffic projects of regional connectivity. In the past 2 months, Provincial People's Committee also focused on reviewing the plan to allocate public investment capital in 2023; promptly remove difficulties and problems for enterprises and investors; monitor the situation of enterprises and employees working after Tet; pay attention to disease prevention, care for people's health, ensure food safety and hygiene; promote administrative reform, digital transformation; maintaining political security, ensuring social order and safety, traffic safety...

The world and domestic economic situation will still have difficulties and challenges that affect the speed of economic development; hence provincial leaders identify the goal of rapid, inclusive and comprehensive, sustainable, in-depth development in all areas. Therefore, the task set in 2023 is very heavy, but with high determination, depth in leadership, drastic in directing and operating, promptly removing difficulties and obstacles for enterprises and investors, the consensus from the people, the province will continue to overcome difficulties and challenges to reap the highest results of the set goals and tasks...
