Efforts made in Bac Tan Uyen district to construct green living environment

Besides the goals of economic and social development, Bac Tan Uyen district always emphasizes environmental protection, starting from practical actions such as building parks, flower gardens, civilized living... Among them, there is a focus on planting new trees to contribute to ecosystem restoration, environmental protection, and create positive impacts for future generations.

Tree planting and environmental protection activities are being widely implemented throughout the district. In the photo: People participate in tree planting at the Cultural Center, Sports Center - Community Learning Center of Bac Tan Uyen district.

The green routes

In the town of Tan Binh, the communes of Lac An, Tan Lap, and Dat Cuoc, in the last days of May, it is noticed that many roads in the residential area are very spacious, clean, without scattered waste, with flowers and green trees scenting the path. This is the result of the local government and the people regularly implementing and maintaining the green-clean-beautiful street movement, eliminating pollution from spontaneous household waste dumps.

Mr. Huynh Van Tung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Binh town, said that with the slogan "All for a green - clean - beautiful environment", activities such as eliminating pollution spots, lighting up, cleaning, collecting garbage, clearing drainage channels, and planting flowers to beautify many roads have been actively participated by the people. From there, raising awareness of responsibility to participate in building a civilized lifestyle.

At My Duc hamlet, Binh My commune, on a road with many households running clean and tidy shops, the owner of Binh My milk shop happily shared that her family has been living here for 40 years. Previously, it was also an asphalt road but small and narrow, now it has been expanded. The road is clean, traffic flows smoothly, and working together to contribute to environmental hygiene is also a way for people to live in a cleaner and more beautiful environment.

In recent years, localities in the district have not only actively implemented models of building green, clean, and beautiful appearance at offices and schools but also widely implemented the urban tree planting project with the aim of creating more green spaces and improving the living environment.

The planting of green trees has been actively responded and participated by agencies, businesses, and people throughout the district. The work of planting green trees has gradually been socialized effectively, in which we must mention companies like Becamex IDC and Vietcombank as pioneers in the work of planting green trees. Over the years, they have supported the district with more than 21,000 various types of green trees to be planted in public areas, roads in industrial and urban areas.

Since 2023, Bac Tan Uyen district has planted over 3,400 types of trees. Among them, the urban area has planted over 1,000 trees, and the rural area has planted over 2,400 trees. It is expected that in 2024, there will be an additional planting of over 3,600 trees along the DH routes with a length of about 14.5km and in public areas. Currently, the coverage rate of forestry and perennial trees in the district accounts for about 65%.

Towards green urbanity

Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Tan Uyen district, said that the district is developing towards industry, services, agriculture, with many industrial zones and clusters already invested in, preparing for investment, and planned for in the near future. Therefore, Bac Tan Uyen district is very concerned about solving the ecological environment issue well, ensuring a good living environment for the people, especially for areas with high industrialization and urbanization rates. Planting trees is important and necessary, bringing many benefits in terms of economy, landscape, and environment.

To implement this activity, in May, the district planted 134 cam lai trees at the Cultural, Sports, and Community Learning Center. This is not only a tree planting day to commemorate Uncle Ho and respond to the "World Environment Day" in 2024, but also the beginning of the activities "For a green Bac Tan Uyen" and "Civilized Saturday". Every agency, unit, and individual all aim towards the common goal of the district, which is to together plant trees, protect the environment, and build Bac Tan Uyen into a model of intelligent and sustainable development.

To ensure the development of green tree planting and environmental protection in the district, becoming a traditional cultural beauty and achieving sustainable effectiveness, functional units, communes, and towns continue to implement comprehensive solutions. Good implementation of planning work, especially land use planning, urban planning, and increasing the ratio of green trees. In parallel, functional departments continue to review unused land funds for planting trees within the management scope to increase the green coverage ratio in areas from districts to communes, towns, and neighborhoods. In addition, individuals and businesses can contribute their resources to tree planting activities as a direct investment in their own green future.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Tan Uyen District: The district's policy is to plant trees that can survive, not to follow trends but to create concentrated forests, green parks, improve the environment, and create beauty for the area. After planting, the trees must be monitored, managed, and cared for according to the proper procedures and regulations, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
