Agricultural production is seen as a strong point of Dau Tieng district. Hence, Dau Tieng district has over time promoted its agricultural production towards intensive farming, especially attached special importance to growing rubber trees, developing animal husbandry under the commercial trend and encouraging the local farmers to take part in the emulation movement of “Good farmers in production and business”.
Attaching special importance to propaganda task
Dau Tieng district’s Farmers’ Societies at all levels have sped up dissemination of information about the emulation movement of “Good farmers in production and business”.
Thanks to the task of propaganda and mobilization well
realized, the whole district had more than 21,800 turns of households
registering for the title of good farmers at all levels from 2009 and 2011.

There were 68 households recognized as “good farmers” at central level; more than 1,000 households winning the title of “good farmers” at provincial level; nearly 4,000 households with the title of “good farmers” at district level…over the past three years.
Many effective models have also been discovered from the emulation movement of “Good farmers in production and business”. For example, Nguyen Thi Minh Tan in Long Hoa commune have been very successful with the model of growing rubber trees; Le Quang Minh in An Lap commune with the model of growing rubber trees, purchasing rubber latex and breeding chickens; Tran Ngoc Hieu in Thanh An commune with the model of agricultural services…
Driving force for local development
Through the emulation movement of “Good farmers in production and business”, Dau Tieng district’s Farmers’ Societies at all levels have mobilized the local farmers to help each other in economic development by many forms with a total value of more than VND6.67bln.
Over the past three years, the whole district mobilized nearly VND353mln to the local support fund for farmers. The district’s Farmers’ Societies at all levels helped 3,485 turns of members get a total loan of VND34bln for economic development.
Apartedly, they teamed up with relevant agencies to organize 438 classes on technical ways in cultivation and animal husbandry for more than 28,000 turns of officials and members.
The district’s emulation movement of “Good farmers in production and business” also contributed to generating jobs for 4,860 laborers and helping 1,044 households escape poverty…
Possibly speaking, the emulation movement has over time created a driving force for the district’s economic development. The quality of farm produce herein has also met the market demand in and out of the province. Especially, through the movement, the local farmers have got access to new methods for agricultural production, bringing higher efficiency.
