After having many jobs but living standard of his family was not improved, in 2006, Ta Van Anh, a young man living at Vinh Hoa commune, Phu Giao district, attended a meeting and was introduced effective model of growing mushroom hosted by municipal Youth Union. Then he thought: “I can do it too”. Thus he learned about mushroom growing through working in a mushroom farm.
After mastering this job, thanks to assistance from Youth Union, he took out a loan from bank and invested in a farm with 4,000 bags of jelly ear. Anh said, at the first time, his experiences and techniques were limited, thus incurring some losses. But he took another loan and continued to grow mushroom.
At the present, he grows many mushroom types, like: king trumpet mushroom, jelly ear, oyster mushroom, straw mushroom, lingzhi mushroom, harvests 100,000 mushroom bags each crop. “Many farmers grow mushroom then give up, because of no output and techniques. I believe that every failure is an experience for me to do better”, said Anh.
Anh also delivers mushroom embryo to farmers. Thanks to mushroom, he can now purchase house, truck, mushroom drying… His farm provides jobs for 10 labours with an monthly income of VND3-4mln each person.
He is always willing to transfer techniques and experiences to other farmers so that they can enrich themselves. Recently, Anh was conferred Luong Dinh Cua award by the Central Youth Union for young person in remote areas doing good business.
