Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with Department of Construction sent an inspection delegation to evaluate the safety of dams and reservoirs in the province. Results showed that dams and reservoirs ensured capabilities to resist flood according to standard QCVN 04-05: 2012/BNNPTNN.
During this inspection, the inspection the inspection assessed reservoirs and dams. 8/8 of reservoirs and dams had no infiltration, cracks, erosion, or other unusual phenomena. To manage well reservoirs and dams, management units assigned staff to monitor and detect promptly abnormal changes to have proper remedies. In addition, implementing the direction of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, management units have inspected reservoirs and dams periodically before, during and after the rainy season; executed maintenance and timely repair of the damaged works to limit adverse factors causing damages.

Currently, management units of Can Nom, Tu Van 1, Tu Van 2 reservoir set up plans for dam safety protection as well as flood control; 8/8 water reservoirs fulfilled safety registration. Can Nom, San Miquel and Suoi Lung reservoir inspected dam safety and approved by PPC; Da Ban, Doc Nhan reservoir submitted inspection results to higher levels for approval.
Mr. Le Phuoc Than, Deputy Director of provincial Irrigation Bureau, said, to ensure dam and reservoir safety in all situations, the unit coordinated with management units to devise dam protection plan, repair damaged works; simultaneously, examine, report frequently dam safety conditions before the flood season. Management units implemented seriously measures to ensure dam safety and flood prevention under approved plans.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Binh, Director of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, affirmed, safety of water reservoirs in the province had been preserved. He also requested Irrigation Bureau to coordinate with other agencies, management units, and local government to organize training courses to improve dam management capability of officials; pay attention to propaganda to improve people’s awareness of reservoirs and dams protection; set up plans for reasonable adjustment of reservoir and dam water.
