During the process of construction and development of Binh Duong Province, enterprise community and entrepreneurs hold vital role and contribution to economic growth, helping to stabilize local society. Tran Thanh Liem, member of Standing Board of Provincial Party Committee cum permanent Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, asserted in his interview with Binh Duong Newspaper reporter. Liem affirmed:
The enterprises and entrepreneurs are significantly positioned in the economy as the generators of GDP. In recent years, operations of enterprises eye breakthroughs to liberate and develop production and potentials in socio-economic development, helping to resolve social issues including job creation, poverty and famine reduction.
- Can you disclose what contributions have enterprise community and entrepreneurs made to economic development of Binh Duong Province in the past time?
- Binh Duong Province is within Southern Major Economic Region. Despite challenges, economy of Binh Duong Province has been on stable development regarding various aspects. GDP of the province has been on 13-14% growth annually. By the end of 2014, industry-service-agriculture structure of Binh Duong Provincial economy was 60.8-36.2-3 %; GDP reached VND 61.2 per capita; exportation revenue reached US$ 17.741 billion. Foreign investment in recent years has gained over US$ 1.5 billion a year.

In 2014 and 9 months of 2015, under general evaluation, production and business operations of enterprises and entrepreneurs in the province have met the proposed criteria of revenue, State’s budget obligations, and market development. Enterprises community and entrepreneurs have made dramatic contributions to industrialization targets of the province with investments into socio-economic infrastructure, contributing to urban beautifying, job creation, and major State’s budget collection resources. The achievements gained by enterprises and entrepreneurs are greatly appreciated. Enterprise community and entrepreneurs have significantly contributed to socio-economic development of Binh Duong Province.
- Sir, what measures have been made by Binh Duong Province to facilitate business, operations, and investments of the enterprises?
- For the time, Binh Duong Province is a locality of energetic operations; investments have been strongly made with synchronous infrastructure of electricity and water supply, traffic system, vocational training, environment protection, waste water treatment plant, better human resource services, lean administrative reforms, one-stop-shop, site clearance and compensation for clean land fund to welcome investors. Thus, clear environment has been established to facilitate production and businesses of enterprises as well as attracting domestic and foreign investors.
- What measures will be continue to attract investments, sir? What are your expectations of contributions of enterprise community and entrepreneurs for the time to come?
- To ensure the implementation of socio-economic development targets and duties, Binh Duong Provincial authority and its all-level leadership and departments will be with enterprises and entrepreneurs to timely remove obstacles and offer them with the best conditions for their businesses, operations, and investments. Provincial leaders will be listening to feedbacks of investors to carry out suitable measures for creating more and more attractive investment environment.
In 2015 and the next years, measures of calling for investments will be implemented continually including: concentration on central government’s policies to suit local situation; well implemented administrative reforms; socio-economic infrastructure investments for investment attraction and operation stabilization of enterprises for the projected targets. Binh Duong Province will be coordinating to agree upon leadership, management and operations of departments, sectors, and unions to create general power of unity for the proposed targets; concurrently, shortcomings of land retrieval, compensation, clearance, and settlement would be removed to facilitate project implementation by enterprises in terms of investment registration and certification; obstacles would be removed fast enough for investors of socio-economic infrastructure, particularly the industrial infrastructure, urban areas, hospitals, and schools in the province.
Binh Duong Province is also focusing on socialization of cultural and social aspects including programs of science development and technology renovation, education programs, human resource attraction ad improvement, competition capacity, environment awareness for sustainable development of departments, enterprise community and entrepreneurs through the channel of information dissemination.
Provincial People’s Committee appreciates and appraises the significant contributions of the public and enterprises community as well as entrepreneurs in socio-economic development of the province. I am hopeful that, for the time to come, local people, enterprise community, and entrepreneurs would overcome their challenges and be for efforts of contributing to socio-economic development in 2015 and the years after next.
