The Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU dated 19 May 2022 on digital transformation in Binh Duong province until 2025, with orientation for 2030. In particular, it is emphasized that one of the important tasks is the development of digital technology enterprises and the transformation of traditional enterprises into digital enterprises, enhancing the digital transformation based on the digital platform, the digital business ecosystem.

Currently, Binh Duong province has over 58,000 enterprises (ranked third in the country), of which small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for more than 97%. Ceramics is one of the six key industries of Binh Duong, however, enterprises in the ceramic industry are not immune to difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the strong influence of the war between Russia and Ukraine. To create a breakthrough in production business in the 4.0 trend, many businesses in Binh Duong province have actively embarked on the digital transformation.

Currently, Minh Long I Company is the No.1 brand of household ceramics in Vietnam. Minh Long I has been recognized as a science and technology enterprise since 2015, with a factory system scientifically invested, designed, and built. Their production system is automated, imported from countries having advanced level of ceramic production, such as Germany, France, and Japan.

The line of Minh Long I is considered the most modern in the world today. With the industry 4.0, to grow higher and improve product competitiveness, Minh Long I has accelerated the digital transformation.

Ly Ngoc Minh, General Director of Minh Long I Co., Ltd., said: “To catch up with the trend, the company invested in machinery and equipment with the most modern German technology. To meet the requirement of having a new breakthrough, have a methodical strategy to create a "new way of life", the company has revolutionized production technology that is using the one-time firing method to invent a durable, health-protecting product, which is a nourishing ceramic pot that does not secrete toxic substances. Besides, the company employs information technology, applies digitalization in management, and innovates production technology”.

Vuong Sieu Tin, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Ceramics Association, Chairman of Phuoc Du Long Co., Ltd., said that since the Russia-Ukraine war, orders from European countries have decreased to 90%.

To overcome difficulties and survive in a competitive market, in the coming time, the company will cut costs, invest in modern technology, carry out digital transformation, open a showroom on the internet, and digitalize catalogues".

Businesses today cannot stand aside from the changing trend, shifting from offline to online. Digital transformation is a tool to help businesses not be "left behind" in the midst of many new challenges. Digital transformation includes applying new technology into business production and operations, converting direct to online buying and selling, from traditional marketing to digital and other innovative methods.

Nguyen Thai Phu, Director of TP FOOD Trading Co., Ltd. (Thuan An City), said: “In order to be able to stay strong, the company has implemented the digital transformation to operate efficiently, develop products, and expand consumption market.”

Faced with the fourth industrial revolution, it is imperative to create a breakthrough and improve the competitiveness of enterprises. To improve the competitiveness of SMEs, the support of the State, the efforts of enterprises themselves, and the help of associations are in need.

The Politburo issued Resolution No. 52-NQ/TW, dated 27 September 2019 on some guidelines and policies to actively participate in the fourth industrial revolution. The Prime Minister issued Decision No. 749/QD-TTg, dated 3 June 2020 approving the "National digital transformation program until 2025, orientation for 2030" to identify digital transformation as the key to actively join the fourth industrial revolution.
