Enterprises adapt to the 4th revolution technologies

After 2 years of being heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and in the context of deep integration with the world along with the impact of the 4th industrial revolution, businesses are facing a situation where they are forced to changes to adapt, survive and develop.

Production activities are on-going at Tan Toan Phat Ceramic Co. Ltd. in Tan Uyen town

Changes to survive

As one of the top 3 ceramic manufacturers and exporters in Binh Duong, Tan Toan Phat Company is making constant efforts to adapt after the COVID-19 pandemic by maintaining the bringing of typical Binh Duong ceramic products to the domestic and foreign markets. Mr. Vu The Liem, deputy director of factory production of Tan Toan Phat Co. Ltd. in Tan Uyen town, said that the prolonged pandemic had seriously affected the economic situation; and, many domestic enterprises had to change their ways of operations to survive. Enterprises are forced to increase productivity, reduce input costs, and improve production efficiency based on the results of the 4th industrial revolution. The application of new techniques and technologies to production and competitiveness is a vital requirement of enterprises in the ceramic industry.

Mr. Tran Cong Vinh, Director of Thien Nam Joint Stock Company in Di An city, said that the current context of labor shortages and rising wages had forced businesses to choose a direction to adapt and develop. Enterprises must focus on investing in automation technology and innovating management processes. Thien Nam uses science and technology to create the driving force to promote "smart production" to increase labor productivity, improve product quality, and better meet the increasingly stringent requirements of the markets.

Mr. Nguyen Liem, a member of the Binh Duong Furniture Association, said that the wave of foreign investment moving into Vietnam had led to labor shortages getting woodwork enterprises to face many drawbacks. “The problem that woodwork enterprises are facing is not simple as it requires a new vision and deeper thoughts to rethink the production model, and to apply technology to increase internal resources," said Mr. Liem.

To increase interaction with customers

In response to the recent COVID-19 epidemic, An Cuong Furniture Company in Bac Tan Uyen district chose to apply technology to sales. Specifically, the company has just launched a new online sales application called AnCuong Catalog, and signed a contract with two e-commerce partners to put its products on the trading floor. AnCuong Catalog usable on smartphones and tablets contains all parameters and documents about all 3 companies of the An Cuong furniture brands. As customers choose any product of An Cuong, they will be provided with full product information and installation instructions among others. In addition, the preeminent of this sales application is when the customer has installed, all information about prices, new products, promotions, customer incentives etc. will be automatically updated and notified to consumers.

Currently, not only for manufacturing enterprises but many retail brands have quickly adjusted their business models to match the needs of consumers. Businesses focus more on online sales and learn new strategies to outreach for and attract more customers. Even the big ones appear more often on attractive advertising and promotional campaigns to reach for more consumers.

“In fact, supermarkets have quickly adopted the multi-channel model to meet the needs of consumers including online channels like website, apps, and phones and direct channels for interaction with buyers anytime and anywhere. Therefore, BigC Binh Duong has also proactively joined the race to digitize services by quickly capturing consumer behavior, and making the most of online channels, sales applications, and communication channels to promote multi-channel integration. This not only creates a good two-way interaction with customers but also easier access to products,” said Mr. Vo Nhat Vu, Director of BigC Binh Duong.
