To overcome challenges, many enterprises in the province are accelerating technological innovation, digital transformation, supply chain diversification and the development of auxiliary industries.
Enhancing internal strengths
Since early this year, Binh Duong's industrial production has maintained a steady growth trajectory. Enterprises have proactively adapted and sustained production momentum, despite ongoing difficulties caused by global uncertainties. Maintaining this growth, flexibly adapting to market conditions and promptly seizing new investment opportunities have been key factors, contributing to the estimated 10.19% growth in the province’s industrial sector in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

According to provincial People’s Committee, in the context of ongoing global economic instability—especially the impact of U.S. tariff policies, rising input costs and an unstable consumer market—it is encouraging that the industrial sector has sustained positive growth. This outcome reflects the dynamism and flexibility of local economic governance and clearly demonstrates the internal strength of the business community in the province.
Kim Chung Mechanical Production, Service and Trading Co., Ltd. in Tan Uyen city, which specializes in manufacturing auxiliary components and equipment for the industrial sector. Previously, the company used outdated machinery and had to go through multiple stages to complete a product. After receiving support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s technology innovation program, the company invested in modern machinery, automated its production lines and upgraded its production methods. As a result, the company reduced production time by one-third, cut operating labor by 50%, lowered labor costs by five times per product and increased labor productivity by nearly five times compared to the old technology.
Luu Tri, Vice President of Binh Duong provincial Electromechanical Association stated that a key characteristic of the auxiliary industry is the need for mass production. Therefore, cost, quality and delivery time are always stringent requirements from major corporations—especially as Vietnam integrates into the global supply chain. As a result, member enterprises of the association have identified technological innovation as critically important and essential factors. Their top priority is automation as only automation can address the three core challenges: reducing costs, ensuring consistent quality and meeting delivery deadlines.
According to Nguyen Thanh Lam, Director of Lam Viet Joint Stock Company in Tan Uyen city, the world is entering a new development phase characterized by fierce competition among major countries and the strong impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and trade wars. As a result, the need for autonomy in development has become more urgent than ever. Innovation and digital transformation will help build a creative economy based on science and technology. Supply chain diversification is the key to building resilient supply chains that can withstand global economic shocks, ensuring stable production and effective participation in the global value chain.
“With Vietnam’s economy becoming increasingly open, it is inevitable that the Fourth Industrial Revolution will impact key sectors, including investment, business operations and industrial production. Enterprises must reorganize supply chains, transform production and business models to align with new realities by applying advanced digital technologies. Businesses also aim at diversifying their supply chains, reducing dependency on foreign sources, accelerating high-tech application and digital transformation in their production and business activities”, Mr. Lam emphasized.
Seamless connectivity
To achieve the 2025 industrial growth target, enterprises hope for continued improvement in the investment environment. They urge relevant sectors to promptly resolve difficulties, especially administrative procedures, land access for production and financing. At the same time, greater support is needed for enterprises to adopt digital transformation and advanced technologies to enhance productivity and product competitiveness.
According to Phan Thanh Duc, Director of Binh Duong Garment Joint Stock Company in Thuan An city, merely applying digital technologies within the factory does not automatically create a digital and self-operating supply chain. Instead, it requires seamless integration across all internal and external operations of the enterprise—from planning and procurement to production and logistics. Therefore, changing the mindset of business leaders is crucial for enterprises to embrace new trends, understand them correctly, implement them effectively and make the most of the opportunities they present.
“Technological innovation is vital for businesses. However, many still face challenges such as lack of information about technology, limited financial support policies and insufficient incentives for products resulting from technology transfer or innovation. Technological renewal is the foundation for enhancing product quality, diversification and market responsiveness. There is still significant potential and opportunity for domestic enterprises to innovate, improve value chains and compete with imported goods. Nevertheless, some businesses have not fully recognized the importance of technology innovation yet. Moreover, they face ongoing difficulties such as lack of access to information, support programs and incentives for new technologies”, said Phan Le Diem Trang, Vice President of Binh Duong Textile and Garment Association, regarding the current state of the domestic garment- textile industry.
The business community is hopeful that the Government will accelerate the implementation of strategies for science, technology and innovation development; promote digital transformation and supply chain diversification; focus on developing foundational and auxiliary industries. These efforts are expected to enhance economic resilience, competitiveness and domestic production efficiency while also providing guidance and enabling enterprises to effectively access and utilize the Science and Technology Development Fund… |
