Enterprises intensify COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control in year-ending months

In order to ensure labor resources and maintain production in the last months of the year, most businesses in the province have strengthened COVID-19 control. In addition to strengthening rapid screening tests every 2 days and increasing food rations, many businesses continue to allow workers to stay at the company to avoid infection from outside.

Collective housing used for prevention of the epidemic

Mr. Nguyen The Thien, Human Resources Administration Director of Terra Yamaken Concrete Joint Stock Company in Song Than 3 Industrial Park of Thu Dau Mot city, said that currently, the epidemic situation is still very complicated although most of the working employees have been vaccinated. Recently, many workers have not returned from their hometowns in time, making labor resources scarce while year-end jobs are plentiful. If businesses do not have their own effective measures to prevent and control the epidemic, they will face many difficulties.

“Although the provincial People's Committee and Department of Health have recently issued many timely and flexible documents to create an open mechanism for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control at enterprises, the businesses are not subjective to the situation. For enterprises, the Industrial Park Management Board set up a group of businesses to exchange and share about COVID-19 prevention and control along with weekly activities that help us learn a lot regardign the COVID-19 prevention and control and follow the directive documents of all levels."

Workers of Showa Co. Ltd. have their body temperature checked before meals

Terra Yameken Company currently has 1,200 employees in the field of fresh concrete production. During the recent peak months of the COVID-19 epidemic, the company had carried out production activities in the order of steps of "3 on-site" and "3 green" solutions while setting up COVID-19 prevention and control teams at the enterprise. Every week, the company regularly implemented rapid testing, disinfection, hygienic dining and lodging etc. Over a month now, when it returnws to work in the "new normal", the company still adheres to follow epidemic prevention and control activities very seriously. Therefore, the whole company only had a few cases of infection, which did not affect its production and business operations.

Mr. Nguyen The Thien added that 50% of the company's employees have their own houses. Currently, these workers go home every day while strictly implementing the "3 green" on COVID-19 prevention and control. When entering the company, they are checked for body temperature and have their QR codes scanned. The company has built dormitory to meet the needs of dining and staying on-site. Therefore, after the implementation of "3 on-site", about 50% of the remaining employees have asked to stay in the company to work because they feel safer. Therefore, the company has also facilitated employees to stay. The company has also implemented the guideline that when there is a case of F0, it must immediately report to the nearest medical center of the Management Board of the Industrial Park for treatment and monitoring instructions; rapid testing a time is conducted every 3 days to screen and detect the disease, not letting it spread.

Meal portion increased in combination with COVID-19 prevention and control

Yazaki Company Limited in My Phuoc Industrial Park of Ben Cat town has more than 2,000 employees who, thanks to good management of COVID-19 prevention and control, along with dozens infected have returned to work in the company's "new normal". Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luan, an employee of the company's mechanical team, said: "The company strictly performs screening tests every 2 days, so it quickly detects F0 to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the business. In particular, the prevention and control teams in the company are very effective in communicating about COVID-19 prevention and control at the hostels for employees as well as tracing the epidemic spread. When an F0 is detected, the close contacts of F1 are also quarantined at home for a week. The fact that the company set up partitions in the cafeteria and limited close contact during the production process along with regular spraying of disinfectants at places where people gathered  showed that the epidemic alert level is always at the highest to make the employees feel secured.”

Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Chairman of the Trade Union of Showa Glove Co. Ltd. in VSIP I Industrial Park of Thuan An city, said that despite returning to the "new normal" and the stabilized production and business operations, the business is still very cautious with COVID-19. Disease prevention and control is even more serious than at the beginning of the year. Before entering the factory, employees must perform a QR scan, then disinfect at an automatic disinfection chamber located at the entrance to the company, body temperature is automatically taken as security guards just stand far away in supervision. The company arranges different meal times to ensure that each worker is at each table with a partition. The company does quick test twice a week to promptly detect and screen for infection. The company also arranges 2 isolation rooms for F0 and F1. When detecting any infection case, the company will contact the nearest medical center to quickly and safely handle the epidemic situation.

At Dunlopillo Company in VSIP I Industrial Park of Thuan An city, besides applying science and technology to COVID-19 prevention and control, the company also increased the food rations from VND 25,000 a meal to VND 35,000 a meal. If unfortunately a worker is infected with COVID-19, the company also provides a meal allowance of VND 500,000 for 14 days of quarantine and treatment. Mr. Pham Hong Luc, President of Dunlopillo Company's Trade Union said: "In my opinion, now businesses are strengthening COVID-19 management in the best possible way and at the same time coordinating well with the nearest health authorities. However, it is very important to take care of food and drink rations to enhance nutrition and resistance during the epidemic season. As the resistance of workers decreases, COVID-19 is easy to attack. By combining both sides of taking care of food and effective COVID-19 prevention and control, we can ensure production and business in the last days of the year."
