Slow technology investment leads to low competitiveness
Mr. Nguyen Liem, General Director of Lam Viet Wood Joint Stock Company (Tan Uyen Town), said a CNC machine system for wood production of the company was made in Italy and worthed an Audi luxury car. Lam Viet Company is equipped with dozens of machine; all phases of milling, smoothing, and lathing ... are processed through the computer system. The company built a separate technical department consisting of an IT engineer and a product design specialist to operate the entire CNC machine system.

According to Mr. Liem, European manufacturing technology is expensive, but it is worthy, because of its benefits. With this technology, the quality of products will be similar; product specification and size are not flawed. Because wood products of Binh Duong companies mainly focus on European and American markets, this CNC machine system helps Lam Viet Company to develop.
At present, dozens of wood enterprise in the province are investing in modern production lines, most advanced technologies in the world. This is a general good signal of wood enterprises in the country as well as in Binh Duong province.
Not only the wood industry, there are now a series of enterprises operating in other fields have also invested heavily in modern production technology. Typically, Vietnam Dairy Company (Vinamilk) has invested in a factory in Bến Cát District with the total amount of more than VND 2,400 billion. Modern level of this production line will make many companies overwhelmed. A capacity of more than 400 million liters of milk per year is fulfilled by 70 robotic devices, including 15 laser-guided lazer (LGV) robots, 14 self-propelled robots on the track. It can be said that Vinamilk's dairy production plant in Binh Duong has the most productive production line in Asia.
Take initiative in the general trend
According to many experts, it is not a too difficult task compared with many people's apprehension for enterprises that want to launch the industrial revolution 4.0 at their manufacturing plant. In fact, it is not necessary to spend much money on imported equipment from Europe in order to make a breakthrough in technology. Enterprises can use their existing equipment, then upgrade and connect to a computer system to operate the production machine, this still brings high efficiency.
Mr. Mai Huu Tin, Chairman of Binh Duong Federation of Enterprises, said that to have industrially standardized machinery, businesses need a large investment. However, there are actually many machines used in handicrafts and factories that are not connected to the internet. Investing in all new machines is not the only solution; in fact many older machines can also be equipped with new solutions such as sensors, software to put them into the new industrial era. This helps businesses increase maintenance, reduce downtime, while increasing production levels for businesses.
Ceramics are handicrafts that use more manual labor, less machinery. But with time and market demand, technological change is quietly taking place among provincial community of ceramic enterprises. Mr. Ly Ngoc Bach, Director of Cuong Phat Ceramics Company, said that production mode of firewood and charcoal kiln was obsolete, no longer suitable for current development conditions. At present, there are many ceramic enterprises investing tens of billion VND in gas or electric kilns. This technology helps baked pottery products to actively get the desired temperature, fermentation quality is also much better than the old way. Most importantly, only the advanced technology and production lines help businesses save time, deliver products on-schedule to customers.
Industrial revolution 4.0 is taking place very fast. Many businesses in Binh Duong are actively catch the world general trend and help bring the industrial production of the province to a new height.
