Essential goods ensured in supply

Most of functional agencies and businesses have set out concrete measures to conduct market stability from now till the year-end and first months of 2011. The market stability is to meet adequate supply and proper price with ensured quality for customers, said Nguyen Van Ban, vice director of the provincial department of Trade and Industry.

How is the work of market stability implemented, sir?

Based on the local socio-economic development and rising consumption demand in the last months of this year, the department mapped out a program of market stability for essential items including sugar, rice, cooking oil, meat, vegetables… In this year, the provincial People’s Committee also disburses VND122bil from local budget to offer non-interest loans for 4 businesses of Vinatex, Hai Long, SaiGon Co.op Mart and Thanh Le to reserve essential items for the sake of price stability.

These companies’ goods reserve is expected at VND490bil. Their commodity reserve will increase three fold over the same period last year. In addition, the department will cooperate with all level People’s Committees to hold 20 locations of mobile goods selling in a bid to cater for workers and laborers in 4 Northern districts in the last days of this year.

How will be counterfeit goods control implemented, sir?

Trading in counterfeit and imitation goods will surge by the year-end. The department will step up inspections and settlements effectively and reinforce promulgations for customers as well as control goods quality and food safety hygiene on the market.
