Establishing the groundwork for innovative advancements

Aiming to establish itself as the premier modern industrial and service hub in Southeast Asia, Binh Duong is progressively laying the groundwork for the advancement of a digital economy, as well as a green and sustainable economy rooted in science, technology, and innovation. This initiative seeks to foster new breakthroughs, enhance the quality of life for its residents, and position Binh Duong as a leading development model in the region.

Leverage for advancement

Binh Duong is committed to sustainable development, with a vision to emerge as the premier modern industrial and service hub in the region by 2050. The focus is on constructing modern infrastructure, enhancing the quality of human resources, and integrating science and technology across all sectors of production and management. These critical elements will enable Binh Duong to not only sustain its current standing but also advance further in its pursuit of sustainable development and prosperity.

To support the sustainable development strategy, Binh Duong is concentrating on establishing a new innovation ecosystem, equipped with comprehensive land resources, technical infrastructure, and social infrastructure. This ecosystem will promote the growth of high value-added industries, while reducing production costs and targeting the export of high-tech products. Enterprises are encouraged to fully leverage the province's exceptional potential and competitive advantages, capitalizing on opportunities presented by the fourth industrial revolution.

With significant advantages in land, Binh Duong is continuously investing in and upgrading its transportation system and infrastructure to meet international standards. Coupled with the innovative and decisive leadership of provincial officials, the investment environment in Binh Duong is becoming increasingly attractive. In conjunction with a strategy focused on the development of science and technology, digital transformation, and the cultivation of high-quality human resources, Binh Duong is well-positioned for robust growth in the forthcoming period. Currently, the province is executing several key transportation projects, including Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, and the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, which traverse the region. These vital transportation initiatives not only enhance Binh Duong's connectivity with major economic centers but also foster synchronized socio-economic development between Binh Duong and its neighboring provinces.

Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated that Binh Duong is committed to becoming one of the foremost provinces and cities in the nation in the development of high-tech and digital industries, as well as high-quality service sectors. The strategic orientation for 2030 and the vision for 2045 focus on cultivating a smart urban-industrial ecosystem, wherein the digital economy, digital transformation, and innovation are pivotal.

A notable feature of the urban transport infrastructure in Binh Duong New City is the implementation of electric bus routes, intelligent parking management systems, and electric vehicle charging stations across various locations. These initiatives not only alleviate traffic congestion but also significantly contribute to environmental protection by reducing emissions and noise pollution. The advancement of transport infrastructure, in conjunction with the development of smart urban areas, positions Binh Duong as an attractive destination for both investors and residents.

Green economy advancement, digital economy

Binh Duong is presented with numerous significant opportunities within the digital economy and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The province aspires to establish itself as a hub for scientific and technological research and development, innovation, and the training of high-quality human resources. Sectors such as the digital economy and Industry 4.0 are unveiling new prospects for Binh Duong, positioning it to become a leading industrial and service center in the region. To achieve a breakthrough in rapid and sustainable development during this new era, Binh Duong is advancing the development of the digital economy, green economy, circular economy, and sharing economy, with a particular emphasis on economic digitalization. Concurrently, the province is expediting the construction of new-generation industrial parks, prioritizing innovation, the application of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, and the cultivation of high-quality human resources.

Binh Duong has been executing plans and initiatives aimed not only at sustainable development but also at enhancing the quality of life for its residents. This is achieved through the promotion of research and the application of clean technologies in production, consumption, and resource management, thereby reducing pollution and conserving energy in pursuit of sustainable economic growth. Additionally, Binh Duong fosters the development of the information technology sector by establishing concentrated technology zones and data centers, while attracting investment in the production of electronic products, semiconductor chips, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data solutions. The objective is to create a vibrant hub for the information technology industry across the three provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, thereby drawing investment in the production of electrical and electronic products, as well as IoT technologies.

Binh Duong is presently undertaking initiatives to establish a centralized Information Technology Center and a 220-hectare High-Tech Center in Binh Duong New City, along with additional science and technology industrial parks. Through significant investments aimed at cultivating a new generation of industrial ecosystems—encompassing science and technology centers, business parks, centralized information technology parks, logistics centers, and transit-oriented development (TOD) cities—Binh Duong is progressively solidifying its pivotal role in the future of high technology in Vietnam.

With these orientations and priorities, Binh Duong not only has the potential for remarkable development but can also serve as a model for other regions in establishing a sustainable and modern economy in the digital era.

Binh Duong aims for the digital economy to constitute 30% of GRDP by 2030, with each industry and sector achieving a minimum of 20%. Additionally, e-commerce is expected to account for over 20% of total retail sales, while the utilization of electronic contract platforms by enterprises is targeted to reach 100%. Furthermore, over 70% of small and medium enterprises are anticipated to adopt digital platforms.
